We got around pretty darned early this morning. It’s all about Betty right now! Poppy is busy on the phone getting her Rx for a pair of single lens glasses so she can watch TV. The left lens will be clouded so she won’t see double. By the time the phone calls are made and the running is done it’s gonna be a day!
Mamaw got me out for a walk right away so I’d rest better in my kennel. I knew that’s where I was gonna go so I took my time and enjoyed all of the smells. That damned black and white dog that just gets so naughty has been here again—I’d like to cut his legs off! Mamaw says that isn’t very nice—that all of the dogs have a right to go in our yard. “After all Scarlett, it isn’t just reserved for you,” she said.
At the hospital, Betty was very glad to see her little brother. Brother, Ron, lives in Florida and can’t be here. Poppy and Betty have always been quite close so he is spending as much time with her as possible. In the afternoon though, she became very tired so they came home for the day hoping she would be able to rest.
Mamaw is so nervous she got busy putting her tricycle planter together! She made up her mind she would get it done; and after dropping the pieces time after time, she got it. She is so funny though—she took everything out of the box and said, “Well for crying out loud poppy, there aren’t any instructions.” She just looked and studied the picture on the box and got it. Then (chuckle, chuckle) when she took the little pot out of the big pot, THERE WERE THE INSTRUCTIONS. Poppy didn’t laugh—I think that was wise…
I get to go out and play with Ozzie again. Now—that I can handle! He’s still not 100% but the vet said he’s getting there. I get a little carried away and ask too much out of him as we play and Ozzie just lies down and rests. That is okay too!
And finally, Mamaw makes it to the office to do her work! She is there for A LONG TIME. Finally Poppy asks her if she is ready—for what she asks?—24 is coming on. She had forgotten all about that. Out she comes, nearly on the run, and they settle in to watch Jack try to solve all of the worlds’ problems. And then back to the office—Oh, that’s right—Mamaw is putting together a Book Signing for her friend, Linda Carlson who just had a book published. She works real hard at that stuff so we all know it will be perfect.
And so, I’m gonna go to bed now Mamaw. “Okay Miss Scarlett, see you in the morning—love you.”
