I’m off my feed today. I’ve been invited to walk a number of times—just not interested. Mamaw finally hand-fed me just a little so I’d have something in my stomach. Poppy and I are just hangin out resting. I seem to be sleeping a lot today. So Mamaw just works around us, and sometimes she gets in the way of that big TV—frustrating! It wouldn’t be if I felt better.

She’s in the office a lot today. Gotta get right on that book signing stuff—the date will be here before they’re ready! And of course the vacuum cleaner comes and goes. Only this time, she’s using the little one cause the blooms from the trees are on the ground and we carry them in on our paws/feet. She runs that damned thing and it interferes with TV too! Gotta keep my mouth shut though—she could make me go to my kennel. (I'll be timid)

Mamaw went on a long walk all by herself—she just said, “Scarlett, if you aren’t going with me I’ll go alone.” And she did. She was gone a long time and I kept looking out the window to see if she was coming back but it took a long time. She was sweatin when she got back and she had the nerve to say, “You better be careful Miss Scarlett, I can move more freely when you aren’t with me and I don’t have anybody pulling at me.” Oh, oh, I think that might be a warning…

Mamaw made me go outside through that horrible double door downstairs—I hate that door! But she coaxes me out and so I just ran right out without being attached to the leash. Oh my God, Mamaw was fit to be tied. We live on 50th Street—very, very busy as workers go home from work. I’m running around out there teasing her and she kept calling and calling to me. I finally couldn’t stand the amount of stress I was placing on her so I gave in. She was so relieved she fell face forward in the grass to love me. It didn’t take long for the outside leash to grab me either! Ozzie is coming back from his walk and I just can’t wait! I love that boy…He’s lots bigger than me but I’m not scared of him at all. He is so sweet. I got to see his scar for the first time and it looks really good. I wanted to run and have him chase me but that didn’t last long. I think Ozzie hasn’t completely recovered from his surgery yet so he gets tired easily. Mamaw said, “Say goodbye Ozzie” and off we went. I’m satisfied…bet I sleep good tonight. Oh boy, one thought though—I hope I don’t have nightmares of Mamaw chasing after me and fearful that I’d run into the street.
