We’ve had 80 days of more than 5 inches of snow on the ground. Wow—wouldn’t you know it would happen like this my first year on this earth? And the cold too—although I told you I don’t mind that at all. God made me “winter ready.”

Mamaw is on hurtin status for sure. I’m trying to be good and Poppy is just being wonderful to her. He has started a load of clothes in the washer for her and I am laying in the living room with my toy beside me waiting for her to feel like playing. I knew it wasn’t going to be really good today when it was Poppy who got me up this morning.
Mamaw is moving pretty slow. She took me for a walk but was really uncomfortable and ALMOST FELL DOWN AGAIN (on the ice this time) so we came home. She decided to get her errands taken care of and then she would tend to me. Mamaw is leaving—Poppy and I are going to “hang.”

“Scarlett, do you want to go for a ride in the car”? She didn’t have to ask me twice. Her car was warm from running her errands so off we went, leaving Poppy alone this time. I love the rides—I can’t tell you enough how happy they make me. So—we rode, and rode and then she pulled into PetSmart. There were lots of dogs and people and I had a wonderful time! I got to see a human baby too. I just sort of peeked around at the baby; but oh, what big blue eyes he had! As we walk up and down the aisles, I am looking under the shelving for doggie treats. People who work there all know my name so I hear them saying, “Hello Scarlett,” “Hi Miss Scarlett -- It’s really quite a marvelous place to take a pet.
