At 6:30 a.m. this morning, I hear the shower! I know—I tell you I know…

And so showered Mamaw comes to get me up. Outside we go and she doesn’t want me to mess around either. I try to do my best but those wonderful smells just keep calling my name. I just have to give in and go back in the house with her cause I know she’s leavin soon.
Well, for heaven’s sake, she is going to take time for a cup of tea—not time for my treats though. Did she forget? Or, was her tea more important then MY MORNING TREATS? That doesn’t make me extremely happy but I’d better leave it alone. She’s a hurricane around here—washing her hair, into the bathroom to dry her hair, makeup, jewelry (you know—the walking target?) Then Poppy wants to discuss something private with her if she has time. She always makes time for him! They talked about part time work as opposed to more days work and they seemed to be in agreement about it so no argument there. “Oh Poppy,” she said, “I can’t forget my diet pill today.”

She shared with us this morning that her “I’m gonna treat myself to whatever I want because I lost 4 more lbs” added 2 lbs back today. I thought maybe she was going to blow the roof off the house but she just told us she’d have that off in a couple of days—it’s just a temporary gain.

Gotta go Poppy—love you—see you tonight. And not a word to me…Okay she’s gone and I’m with my Poppy. He’s gotta get ready for work too so I’ll just go back on that warm waterbed and relax and watch him. I know when it’s all said and done, he’ll put me in the kennel and I’ll be alone with my thoughts today. And it didn’t take long—he took me out to pee and poop and slam, bam, thank ya mam, I’m in the kennel.

Mamaw was gone a LONG TIME. But I was good—no messes—no crying. She got me right out and leashed me up and we went for a nice walk. Getting that all done was a good thing. Back home, I see her putting stuff in my “special bag” so I’m right there waiting on her. And what a surprise I got!!! We went to the dog park. I just love it there—you just see all sizes and descriptions of dogs and we just smell each other up and down. Then we run and chase each other—sometimes we share the balls and sometimes we don’t. I showed em again how I can drink out of a squeeze bottle. Oh boy, it felt good to get home though. There must have been 10-12 dogs there and they can sure wear you out. Mamaw’s had her camera there again!

Not half an hour after Mamaw and I got home, here came Poppy and he asked us if we wanted to go for a drive. Well, were we gonna say no? I don’t think so. In his car this time and off we go. I’ve been “on the move” a lot today for all the time I spent in the kennel. Doesn’t matter…

We rode around a LONG TIME and I kept getting really sleepy. From time to time I would lay my head on Mamaw’s arm and rest but the minute the car stopped or turned a corner I just had to get up to see what was goin on! After an hour we came home but I wanta share with you what my favorite “thing” is about our car rides—it Mamaw and Poppy talking about what they are seeing as we go or about other stuff they haven’t had time to talk about before. That makes me feel warm and mushy. (snuggle)

I’m telling you all I am dog tired! Nighty night…
