She gets busy with Miss Betty’s laundry and then she gets the ‘gate’ and the white plastic chair out on the front deck. She makes herself a cup of hot tea and drags me out there with her. It is the business commute time of the morning and I hear those loud sounds that just make me jump into the air. Every now and then she says, “That’s okay Miss Scarlett—loud motorcycle isn’t it?” Or something like that—well, it lasted about half an hour and I was IN HEAVEN—I said IN HEAVEN when we went into the house. Just keep doin the laundry Mamaw and I won’t bother ya!

I’m spending more time in my kennel these days—they can’t figure out if it has to do with all of these loud noises or whether I just feel at home there. But anyway, she corralled me to go there as they headed out of door. Our color printer that she uses to print my pictures is broke so they gotta go get a new one. They weren’t gone very long cause she still has the laundry goin.

And she got the Rainbow vacuum out today—says she’s got to pick up a bunch of hair. Well, it was bath day yesterday and that always makes a difference. I don’t mind that sweeper though…and I like to jump on the waterbed and watch when she’s doin the bedroom.

This afternoon has been kinda a nothing day. Mamaw has a terrible headache but is trying to get her guest list ready for her jewelry lady so we’ve rested a lot. It’s been a strange afternoon—I’ve gone to the waterbed and stayed there a while—then jumped down beside the bed and was there for a while—and then out on the recliner with Poppy. It’s been a joy…

UNTIL I SEE THE WHITE CHAIR AND ‘GATE’ come back out. When she comes for me, I try to get away from her but she persists. I’ve never seen anybody that hard-headed before; she never gives up. We have our time out there again. I sure hope we are done with that for the rest of the day!

Oh my Lord, I almost forgot to tell ya that we went on a long walk this morning too. It wasn’t bad but on this trail you head west and make the turn at I35 (and it is noisy there!) But she kept me on task and we made the corner on both ends and headed back east to 50th St. She brought me in and let me drink some out of my bottle—I love that!

And so I’m gonna try to stay under the radar for the rest of the evening and hope tomorrow I feel a little better about things.
