We’re getting around to go back to Toyota of Des Moines to get our picture taken for the KCCI-TV U Local A Day In the Life of Iowa. Mamaw thinks that’s almost an infringement on my blog so we’ll submit it and tell them about my blog. We get there and wait, wait, wait—Mamaw says it is a very busy place. And she wanted the car washed so it would look nice. Oh—alright, here comes Pete! “Well hi Pete—I’m Miss Scarlett and it is a pleasure to finally meet you.” I said. After all, Mamaw and Poppy have known this guy for more than 3 years when they bought the 2006 Corolla. We’re taking pictures now…some for Mamaw and some for Toyota (they have their own photographer. Finally, we are done—we’ll drive back to West Des Moines and get gas and a newspaper. I am instructed to go potty cause Mamaw has another function to attend today and I must be kenneled.
Yes, now she is heading off for downtown Des Moines to attend the Koch Bros. biz fair. Koch Bros. is a wonderful supply house for office supplies and furniture. Her friend, Cindy Curtis, invited her to come down and look at all of the new products and get some samples to try. It was spitting rain but off she went anyway! The fair was held at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. She took her camera with her and also got pictures of Cindy at the biz fair and uploaded them too. You will have to admit—this Mamaw is a very, very busy woman. And who said 67 is old huh? She can do ANYTHING! (surprise, surprise)
I always love to hear the car coming in the garage cause I know it is Mamaw or Poppy. But when it is Mamaw, I really love it! She hauls these groceries in and puts them away. But the neat thing is; she buys really good stuff! I beg a lot—receive a little. And then sometimes I throw up. I’ll be there will be discussion about that too.
It’s gonna be an early night to bed tonight—I can tell. Nothing on TV to speak of. Mamaw says, “One hundred channels and nothing to watch.” Does that tell you anything? And so, let’s just go to bed singing, “rain, rain go away—come again another day.”
