Today will be the “last frantic day” for Mamaw. She’ll do last minute laundry and has to completely pack. I have to go to Ashworth Road Animal Hospital to be kenneled Sunday cause Poppy will be working so she has to take me today. I suppose the time I go depends entirely on how good I am. They close at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday so I have to go today. It’s gonna be hard on us…

I’ve already been outside 3 times today! My smeller just won’t let up long enough for me to get my job done and Mamaw says she doesn’t have the time to mess around today. Mid morning she took me on my walk and we walked a long way. She said she needed to wear me out cause if I could sleep at the vet’s time would go faster. We walked and walked and she talked lovingly to me all of the way. When we got back, she put out some more food for me so I knew I better eat it.

She took my food and a pill and went to start the car. After the car was warmed up, Mamaw asked if I wanted to go for a ride. Yep—anytime…She put my “work leash” on and directed me to go pee outside. Then she lifted me up and gave me a BIG HUG and put me in the car. As we rode around, she kept petting me. Well, the ride didn’t last long—I was at the kennel. She came around to my side of the car and put me in her arms while grabbing up the food. She didn’t say a word from then on—we went into the vet clinic and Adam came out to get me. She gave all pertinent information and motioned for him to take me away. I wanted a hug and kiss and I know she did too. I think she thought it would be easier on both of us if she just left without a fuss.
