Almost before I opened my eyes this morning, I knew it WAS NOT going to be a good day! Mamaw has lots to do and apparently Poppy doesn’t feel well. He went back to the bedroom and she shut the door to keep me out. And she started working directly after my first “pee break.” With the first load of laundry started, she’s getting ready to go see the doctor. She has to weigh in every month about her weight loss. She’s lost 28 lbs and wants to lose a little more.
As she is going out the door she tells Poppy that she is running all of the errands while she is out so she can concentrate on her work when she gets home. I thought she almost got back to us in record time so I know she didn’t stop to smell any roses today!
Mamaw has called Miss Jessica, the vet. I’ve been scratching my ears a lot and she wonders what’s up with that. So she works like a fiend until it’s time to pick me up and rush me off to see her. Miss Jessica says I have 2 little pieces of grass in my one ear and that’s why I’m itching…I gotta have stuff put in my ears for seven days now. But I guess if it makes them feel better, we can do that. What I don’t like is her telling Mamaw to get something to pin my ears up from time to time cause the air can’t get to them so it kinda makes for a “breeding factory”—for what I don’t know.
When the painters were here, they painted our sliding glass doors in the walk out basement shut. Mamaw is pis***! She called them today and asked that someone come out and “unstick them.”
Now she has to go around and try every window to find out which ones they need to pay attention to—it’s just all too much for her today! I’m stayin out of the way cause I don’t want to get caught in the middle of things.
Okay—the work is done—Mamaw is pooped. She invited me to come back to the bedroom at 7:00 p.m. to watch some TV with her. Now I’m not gonna turn down the invitation—but 7:00?
I’m gonna be really good so I can go back another time. When I get naughty, she shuts me out for a LONG TIME before I can go with her again. She says she’s trying to teach me manners or something like that. She woke up in the night and quietly picked me up and carried me to my own bed—night sweetheart; see you in the morning…
