White stuff all over the place this morning. Mamaw has gone out to scoop the snow so I can go out to go potty. She always does that for me and I always appreciate it. I don’t want to freeze my “thingy.” Poppy got me out of the kennel so I could watch through the kitchen window. Oh, here she comes…And outside we go. I gotta tell ya, I didn’t forget how good the snow feels on my nose when I “scoop it up.” And I ate till my heart was content. I think she knows this is the last snow (or is it?) for the winter so she’s saving the day for us. Back in the house I am wet from head to foot. She keeps bribing me with treats so I’ll stay on the rug and dry out. Mission accomplished!
It’s the time of the day that Mamaw gets ready to go to the office to work. Poppy has left now for the day so she’ll get busy putting my words into the blogs. She’s very careful and likes to put fresh pictures up too. I couldn’t ask for a better ghost writer…
Afternoon—the snow is melting—out we go for another round. Mamaw threw herself on the ground but I thought she was hurt! My God—what would I ever do without her? I’m crying and whining and trying to get to her when she laughs and laughs. She said, “Oh Miss Scarlett—Mamaw isn’t hurt at all. She’s making a snow angel and I’m not sure if I remember how to do it! Well we rolled and played and just acted crazy—God only knows what the cars going by and the neighbors were thinking. So, after the play she begins with the snow scoop and cleans the entire double driveway! And as if that isn’t enough, she removed all the snow from her hedge evergreens so the snow doesn’t bog them down. I’m tired—I think she’s tired too. Maybe we can have a little sleep-eye.
They’re leavin me again tonight. I thought old people just stayed home…well, not these two. Off to dinner with family to celebrate a 28th wedding anniversary. They stayed gone a long time and I know why! Poppy took his pool sticks with him and Mamaw had two bottles of wine. I like the way they do it though. When I go to the kennel, they don’t cover me for the night. That way I know when they get home, I’m getting out for a while…to go potty and play.
Well, play we did. Mamaw wanted me to lie on the bed with her for a while to watch TV. While she was not watching me, I managed to unmake the bed, so by the time she discovered what I’d done, she was wrapped up like a present. I thought it was funny but she didn’t see it that way. To the kennel and good night America!
