I want to be outside ALL DAY! Smellin the grass…and that damned black and white male I just hate leaves his scent all over MY YARD! I told Mamaw that I am sick and tired of this. She says, “Look Scarlett—we can’t prevent other dogs from using the grass to take care of their needs. But I DO object when they leave their poop and cigarette butts.” Wish we could do something…But anyway—life goes on so here we are. I’m walking a little too far ahead of Mamaw so this morning she took the yard stick on our walk and placed it in front of me when I got too far ahead. I hate that stick! It did help to remind me though (I tried to bite it every chance I got too). Our next walk she gave me a break but I don’t stay “on task” as well so Lord only knows what she’s gonna do next…
Oh God—it’s office day today and I want to be outside! Mamaw says she has to get this stuff done and I keep bothering her. I want out!!! She promises to take me when she gets finished so I’m goin to try real hard to sleep so she gets done quicker. “Scarlett, are you ready to go outside now?” she asks. This is just too good to be true so I run to the front door. That’s not what she has in mind for me. She kept calling me into the basement but I wouldn’t go. I don’t know why, but we went that way one day and I just don’t like it. She put the leash on me like we were going for a walk and she took me outside to my “play area” and hooked me up. Well, now that I don’t mind.
I’m not interested in the Frisbee or the ball—I just roll and roll and just enjoy the outdoors. A little bitty male dog came along though and I socialized with him but didn’t allow him to do the same. I like this guy—Joei is his name. We played for quite a while and then they left and we came in the house. Mamaw is busy putting things out for spring—I guess she’s got the bug too.
And Poppy has to be just like us—he went to the golf course and didn’t promise when he would return. Mamaw said for him just to go and enjoy—we’ll be here when he gets back. And when he got back, he was in a lovey, dovey mood. He said he had a good round of golf and Mamaw told him the sun he got looked good on him. They were enjoying each others’ company so much that Poppy got a Scotch and water and a glass of red wine for Mamaw. They looked so darned cute sitting together on the couch—they just had eyes for each other. And then Poppy wanted some dance music—wow! That’s the first time I’ve seen them dance together and they looked terrific. Every step in place--just like Dancing With the Stars... I’m just sort of wondering what’s up but I’m smart enough to just stay out of it. I can tell you this though—it’s going to be an early night to bed for me! And so, when they are ready for bed, I didn’t resist the kennel—I knew they wanted time alone. (huge grin)
