I’m so glad spring is here! We get to do lots more things so the house is buzzing all of the time. Mamaw is off EARLY to the store and bank to get her errands done—I think we’re gonna be going again. I’m just trying to stay calm and WAIT. Boy, I’ve heard that word so many times…and sometimes I like it; but other times I just hate it. The discussion after the errands is Mamaw has a doctor’s appointment and she thinks she isn’t going to be happy that the weight loss isn’t there. She complained to Poppy—I love it! He just listens and tries to be supportive. Believe me—I just stay out of it. Off she goes again after starting a load of laundry. I was surprised cause she wasn’t gone very long at all. Yep, she said she complained to the Dr. too and he told her she has hit a Plateau (whatever that is). He encouraged her to just keep going and that she either has to lower calorie intake or exercise more. Oh, oh—the hip problem. Well, she’s a smart woman and she’ll figure it out. Let’s don’t focus on that today—I’m ready to “hit the road again.”
Aw—the time is here. Today we are driving to Winterset, IA to look at the cemetery stone they think they like best. It was a lovely day for a drive—the top open—the sun shining in—wonderful! I sat on Mamaw’s lap till the drive just lulled me to need a nap. Mamaw always offers her arm for me to rest my head on. We get there, stop to look, think it’s a “keeper” and head for the park. The big park there has one of the bridges there. It’s called the Cutler-Hollywell bridge and was built is 1800 and something. Poppy took a couple pictures of me and Mamaw cause we were in awe of the bridge. It was built with planks and is still in very good shape. People came there and write stuff inside the bridge—some are very nice and others are so naughty. Mamaw told me not to look at them. And then the trip home. Again I enjoyed the countryside until I was so tired I had to lie down on her arm.
And at home, trust me, I’m gonna nap! And then a walk—Poppy thinks I’m doing better at the HEEL thing. I don’t know—I’m always tugging and she’s always pulling. We gotta get together on this somehow.
Oh yes, Monday night, 24 is on so we’re glued to the TV again. It’s gonna be over soon as I better behave and let them enjoy. I’ll just lay around here until Mamaw says it’s time for bed and then she kind of herds me into the kennel (lovingly telling me she’ll see me in the morning) and then covering me up so I’m in my den. Night—love u.
