Mamaw is out of here in three days! She was up early and right to work on cleaning the basement. She wants it all clean for company tonight but also in case she gets the job.
Our walks have turned into a real mystery—I never know which way we are going. I think Mamaw tries to manage our walks so the wind isn’t directly in her face. She’s trying to go on longer walks too. She is determined to lose that weight!
We broke a record today according to Bryan Carrick, KCCI Weather. It was -6 degrees and that’s a record! Well it was very, very cold and Mamaw just didn’t allow me the time to sniff every yellow spot I found. She sort of steered my leash where she expected me to go and then directed me to pee or poop; whichever I needed to do. She informed Poppy that he might want to do that with me cause you know he can’t take the cold weather as best as we can.
I’ve been kenneled—she’s crazy over cleaning this house I tell you! The kitchen appliances, the countertops, the floor was mopped (that’s why I was in the kennel) and she completely dusted the oak table and four chairs. I have to say—it looks fantastic. She’s got lots more energy now as she is losing weight—Poppy and I can tell. Watch out Poppy—she may get so much energy she’ll leave you behind!
She’s got that crazy vacuum cleaner out now. It’s called The Rainbow and she has to put water in a reservoir—have you ever heard of such a thing? How does she keep from getting the carpeting all wet? Well, she is very smart and knows all about these things. I just have to trust her.
Company came over tonight. Alan Dale and Victoria came to play pool. Well, Poppy and Alan Dale played pool and Vicki and Mamaw visited. I got to spend some time in the kennel and some in the basement with them. At one point Mamaw decided she was going to take me out the sliding glass door outside to go pee. She opened the door and I hesitated cause I’ve never been out that way before. She was trying to pull the heavy door shut so they wouldn’t get cold and the handle broke. OH MY GOD—MAMAW FELL DOWN! I was a nervous wreck and Vicki came running. Mamaw has blood pouring out of her thumb and she hurt her rib. She just sat there for a while so Vicki took me and put me in the kennel so things could try to get back to normal. Poor Mamaw—I feel really bad. And it was so scary I couldn’t even go potty out there! I hope she is going to be okay in the morning. She’s gotta be on hurtin status right now.
