Poppy was getting ready to take me out this morning but I got away from him before he got me “hooked” in my leash. I ran, just as fast as I could, back to the bedroom and jumped on the waterbed. I ran up to the top and started madly kissing Mamaw. I got about six good licks in when she woke up. I love doing that to her! Then I wouldn’t go with Poppy so Mamaw had to scold me and direct me to go with him. By the time I’m done, she’s dressed and ready for the day.
They discussed what they were going to do about the floors and decided that for now we’re just gonna do the kitchen—then we wait a while to see if that fixes the squeaks. Poppy said it could cost us a fortune and maybe not even fix it. Johnny Palmer is also going to look at our patio outside door. It looks like it is rotted right under the door and when it is rainy, the door is harder to open and close. Anyway—he’s comin on Tuesday of this week.
We tell Poppy goodbye—off to the salt mines and we go on a long walk. We didn’t walk at all yesterday—Mamaw just wasn’t up to it with all the shopping and rainy weather. We really took our time today and when we finally came upon the little boy I just cherish, Mamaw asked him his name. He is Tyler (Oh Lord and is he cute). We played with him a little bit and she said come on it’s time to walk.
She likes to spend the time after my walk to work in the office cause I usually go in with her and lie down while she works. She told me she got lots and lots done while I napped. And when I woke up, Mamaw saw a yellow sign down at the stoplight so she said, “Come on Miss Scarlett, let’s go for another walk.” We did—the sign is for church services being held in the school house. We were really quiet and didn’t mess around cause we didn’t want to bother anybody.
As I was being the watch dog, I see Ozzie outside with Becky. I start barking to get Mamaw’s attention cause I want to go play with him. Finally we get the patio doors open but I’m still afraid to walk out there so by the time Mamaw persuaded me to go, Ozzie was in the house. I jumped up on Mamaw and begged to go out in the back yard to Ozzie’s patio door and see if he could come out to play. Well, what can you say to those two? They just adore each other! So both leashed, Becky and Mamaw let us get better acquainted. Now Ozzie is quite a bit larger than I am. But we had a really great time. The only thing that I didn’t like was Ozzie slobbered all over my back. Mamaw had just spent an hour brushing me and making me beautiful. Mamaw told me she sure hopes when I get older I don’t slobber all over stuff.
