It just seems to me that Poppy is working more these days and comes home more tired than usual. What’s up with that?

So Mamaw and I do our own thing and hope its right! I’ve become paranoid about noises outside—she thinks it started when we began having these middle-of-the-night storms with thunder and lightening. So today she took a portable gate and put it on the front deck and made me go out there and LISTEN to all of these sounds. Now I can tell you that I definitely did not like that! Some vehicles have no muffler systems on them and the motorcycles just drive me crazy. Then there are the ridiculous cars that have that BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. It’s just awful I tell you, just awful. And she made me stay out there with her for 45 minutes!

And then she shuts me out of the EXILE room and I just have to “hang out” by myself. I hear her spraying somethin in there and then I hear the shower going. Oh yeah, she told me she had to clean Poppy’s shower stall today. She’s fussy too—gotta be done just right! Well she must a done a wonderful job cause she was in there for a long, long time. Poppy and I appreciate her efforts though—we just wish she didn’t have to work so darned hard at things!

Oh boy, she’s got a new outfit on when she comes out of the bedroom. And jewelry out the ying-yang. Good Lord—she’s a walking target alright! Guess that means she’s outta here soon. The garage door had a knock, knock, knock and in walked Dodi. Oh my God—she was a walking target too! Mamaw told Dodi she was sure glad she was able to go to the jewelry party today. Oh—that explains it all…

So when Sue breezes in to change clothes, I am put in the kennel and off they go…guess you could say On the Road Again.” Except there was no Willie Nelson playin—just new tapes Jim gave her. They’re drivin all the way to Osceola for this party!!!! Hope it’s worth it.

Home again and both Mamaw and Dodi thought it was worth it. And while Dodi was still here, Poppy got home. Dodi brought his favorite, Snickers candy bar for both Father’s Day and his birthday. She said she sent text messages but they don’t want to mess with that technology so they can’t receive texting. Hey, that’s okay isn’t it?

And for supper, Mamaw made turkey and noodles! Oh the house smelled so good. She had “cooked the carcass” of the turkey the other day to get all the meat off the bone and then she knows she’s gotten the “goody” out of the meat. They both just ate like pigs—and she shared just a little with me. Very, very good Mamaw—and thank you…

And later Mamaw and I are in the bedroom on the waterbed just really enjoyin TV. 48 Hour Mystery—she loves that EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT. I go with her just to get to enjoy the waterbed; then I usually fall asleep and she does too. But I always wake up in the morning in my kennel. Guess she wakes up and carries me out there. Love you Mamaw…
