The sun is out! How great is that? I can see the wheels turning in Mamaw’s head…but first, outside for me. She takes her time with me cause I’m needin to get my smells in for the last few days. So we just play around a while and enjoyed ourselves.

And then Mamaw is down the big hole again…the painter’s unstuck the sliding glass doors so she’s putting the flowers and the lawn furniture back out on the bottom deck. I’m watchin her thinking I might get to go out with her but then she goes over to the outside faucet. Oh, Oh—we’re in trouble now…

She screws this funny looking bottle into the hose and I’m afraid she’s gonna get me wet! Instead, she turns it on to the windows outside. Poppy says she’s got special window cleaner in that bottle so we’d better leave her alone. I run upstairs and stick my nose out through the vertical blinds and see the water and the suds running down the windows. She’s such a nut—it will have to be perfect or she won’t be satisfied!

Mamaw comes in the house and she’s pretty proud of herself. She’s got lots of them washed but says there are many yet to do by hand. Well, not today, she says—if there isn’t another day I won’t have to worry about them. Now—there’s an attitude.

She puts so many eggs in a great big pot I have to wonder what she’s doin…has she finally lost her mind? Is she going to feed an Army? Is Poppy THAT HUNGRY? Aw—she says Poppy is going to Fort Dodge to watch Jon play tennis and then they’re coming back here. She intends to make a great big dish of egg salad for their lunches tomorrow. She’s always thinking ahead.

Finally, she jumps around and goes to change clothes and get ready to leave. She’s goin to Boone, IA today! She didn’t tell me why so guess it is none of my business…as long as she comes back. Off like a “herd of turtles” and Poppy and I just shake our heads. “Hey Poppy, now that she’s gone can we just relax a little bit”? Sometimes she wears me out.

When it’s time for Poppy to leave, I have to go to my kennel. He says they’ll be back after while so I’m gonna rest and wait…I wasn’t alone too long but Mamaw came in the door and we went for a lovely walk together. Then we just had a love fest and played with my toys. She makes playin with Miss Froggy and Big Red lots of fun with her “voices” she gave them. And then Poppy and Jon walk through the door. Now things are hoppin! I’m so glad to see Jon but Mamaw says to remember my manners. I’M TRYING…We had a snack (strawberries and Angel food cake), visited and Jon was pooped so off to bed we went. Night Mamaw—night Poppy—night Jon.
