Bed and Breakfast--A&W Root Beer, Carroll, IA

I already shared the winery with ya; now I want to share a great bed and breakfast in Carroll. A great anniversary trip could include wine and dinner at the Santa Maria Winery and Restaurant and then an overnight stay in this great place. Just take a look at this...      Carroll, IA Bed and Breakfast

Ya just gotta take a peek at their website and see how wonderful those rooms look (I would just personally like to roll around on one of them).  Just click away like Mamaw does and you'll find all of the information ya need to make arrangements to say.  And I wanted to go in but Mamaw said we couldn't ...

Carroll is well known as a Train Town.  The chamber of Commerce began the renovations on the depot where the trains used to pick up and drop off travelers.  AND, the Chamber of Commerce is located there now--the old luggage area stands proud too. Poppy says they've done such a nice job people really ought to get on the internet and check it out.

This is where the Porter's set the luggage as people were
getting off the train

There are very few of these left now.  Mamaw and Poppy were tellin me that they used to offer a Baby burger, a Mama's burger and a Poppy's burger--the name told ya how big or small it was gonna be.  And Root Beer...served in iced HUGE glasses with handles.

You just drove up to a drive-up window and gave your order.  The waitress brought it to your car on roller skates as the customer rolled down the window.  The tray was placed over the open window area.

In fact--Mamaw told us she was a waitress there and that is how she made enough money to pay for her senior class ring.  We're impressed...  stop in sometime and see em
