It rained REALLY HARD in the middle of the night but I was good! I didn’t whine, or cry or make a fuss. Ya know I’m really growin up. I thought about that today and I can do so many things now. Mamaw has been a good teacher and I prefer her over that Deb Boswell; you know, the Bark Busters lady? She’s comin tomorrow and I’m not lookin forward to it. I got a couple bad habits Mamaw doesn’t like so she says she needs help. I don’t know why she doesn’t just leave it alone…

Poppy can’t go golfing today—rain, rain go away. That’s a bummer for him. But he got our new camera out and figured out how to use it. It’s not real complicated but ya still need to read the directions. He’s really satisfied with the photos it takes and thinks it is better than our old one—go figure! Hasn’t he heard of modern technology? (smile)

Mamaw’s old girlfriend came to Des Moines today to do the IT work for the new Fareway Store. She came over after she was finished and I got so excited I spit up! Now get this—not once—but twice!!! She’s getting worried about me having a nervous tummy or something but Poppy says let’s don’t get in a big rush to assume that yet.

Well okay; they left for lunch. After what I did, I didn’t dare object so I unwillingly went to my kennel. Poppy was getting a hair cut and groceries and all kinds of stuff to help Mamaw out today with her busy schedule.

Later she was off to see Miss Betty at Mercy Hospital. She’s gonna help her with some therapy while Lori is traveling for business. She never seems to mind when asked to do extra things—I think it makes her feel needed. And she was gone a long time but by then, Poppy was home and I just curled up next to him and said, “Poppy, why don’t we just take a nice, quiet little rest and if we fall asleep it’s okay.” We did rest—we did take a nap—all is well. And then Mamaw comes in the door with a blue bag and heads straight down the hole in the wall. I hear water running and she’s humming and feeling pretty good herself. She came back up and said she was doin laundry for Miss Betty and would take it back tomorrow.

Mamaw took the new camera to the hospital and took pictures of Miss Betty to put on the Family Site so people can see how good she looks and the progress she is making. Mamaw says she is so proud of her. And Betty feels pretty frisky too—she passed her swallow test (whatever that is) and gets to have her first pizza. Mamaw wanted to help her eat it but Miss Betty said, “You go home and make dinner for my brother.” She came home—Poppy cooked on the grill. Will that do?

No Ozzie tonight—I don’t know if I missed him or he missed me but I kept “guard” out the window and didn’t see him come out. I miss him…
