June 20, 2010 (Father's Day)

It’s Sunday—lots goin on here so let me start out with the “good stuff.” Poppy has to go to work so Mamaw is up early cause she “wants to baby him.” I’m rushed outside and right back in. I would have liked a walk but that didn’t fly…

Poppy got a lovely card and four new shirts. He loves—oh but after trying them on—he hates them. He tells Mamaw the short sleeves are TOO SHORT. Guess that means she’ll be takin em back to Kohl’s today. She doesn’t give up though—she bakes hot orange cinnamon rolls and fixes orange juice. She even sat down with him and ate with him—since she’s been on her “diet” she hasn’t done that. I guess today is a special day. Enjoy it while it’s here Poppy!

Okay, so he’s goin to work. Then I discover that Mamaw is leaving even before Poppy to go see Miss Betty. Lori is really sick, Alan Dale is going to Newton to the races and she thinks Betty won’t have any visitors so she’s faithful—and goes. She took the shirts and charge slip with her so I know she’s gonna stop at Kohl’s too.

When back home, Mamaw began writing the blogs and all of a sudden I heard all kinds of complaints coming from the office. She is almost crying and saying, “no, no, no.” I ran in to see what was happenin (thought maybe she fell down or something) and she said, “Miss Scarlett, I can’t get into our favorite blog.” She would wait a little while and try again but to no avail. She is really sad too. That’s where she had all the different photo albums and now she can’t get to them. I’m gonna stay out of her way the rest of the day—cause this isn’t good!!!!

She talked about it to Poppy but she’s just too upset right now to try to think it through and what to do next. Poppy says give her a little time—she’ll figure it out for herself. So we quietly fixed a turkey breast with fried potatoes for dinner tonight. She also served the grapefruit they like so much. Pretty darned quiet…and I’m not going to the waterbed and lay down with her tonight—she’s on her own…
