Mamaw hurts all over this morning. She got up, took 3 Tylenol and asked Poppy to let her have an extra hour in bed. When the hour was up, I took off from Poppy and headed right in to her to make sure she was alright. What an absolute worry this has been for me! Well, she greeted me in her happy, loving voice as always and just rubbed my tummy for a bit. Then she grabs each of my paws and kisses them—she is so funny. She tells me she just loves those furry little paws.
Okay—got lots to do today. “Poppy, why don’t you start our list of things to do,” said Mamaw. So all the while she is shaving her legs, taking a shower and washing her hair, they are making the list. Yep—they got lots to do today!
On top of that, Mamaw wants to buy a laptop for herself and she asked her Poppy to go to the Dell website and put one together for her. She wants to compare apples to apples with one she saw advertised at Office Max. Well, I screwed up pretty early and really cooked my goose…
Mamaw heard something crinkle and she looked and here I was after plastic under the computer chair. Oh my God—talk about furious! I can’t say it loud enough. She ran me right out of the room yelling EXILE, EXILE, EXILE and I am scared to death. I thought Jesus was gonna come down and get me right now. Instead she directed me to my kennel where she closed and hooked the latch. I know what that means—I am in very serious trouble.
They gather up their stuff and just leave me—just like that. No goodbye, kiss my a** or anything! Now, do ya think that’s a little harsh or what? I’m thinking it wasn’t like eatin a dead bird or a mouse but she just went ballistic over that.
They were gone plenty long and when they got home she didn’t let me out of the kennel right away. I had to STAY there and WAIT…
Finally, I’m out…feels like I just got out of prison. I’d better think twice about pulling THAT stunt again huh? I’m gonna be good now I promise.
Mamaw is workin so hard on getting the daily blogs plugged into the other website she hardly knows I am here. Finally I got the nerve to let her know it would be nice if we took a walk. She decided she needed a break too so off we went. Its cooler today—a very nice breeze out there. This persnickety little dog came along the trail and started actin out. He barked, he jumped, he showed me his teeth—of God, it was awful! Awful I tell you…I asked Mamaw if she thought they treated me that way cause of my beauty. She said, “Well yes, Scarlett, you ARE beautiful but sometimes dogs don’t get the training they need along the way.” She says you have to start very early and be consistent (oh boy—I GET THAT ONE).
And into the evening a bit later, I was on the couch with Poppy—Mamaw was addin blogs (what’s new?) and I saw Ozzie! My bestest friend, Ozzie is outside with Becky and I’m stuck in here. I try to get Poppy’s attention with my “Ozzie voice” and he’s reading and ignorin me. I jump up and down off the couch—nobody is paying any attention. Then I run lickity split into the office and flat out let Mamaw know that Ozzie is outside and I WANT OUT TO SEE HIM.
She got it then and jumped up and got me around and out we go (I didn’t exactly follow the rules and let her go first) and there was Ozzie lookin for me. We did our usual “hello” and then Ozzie laid down in the grass—I laid down across from him—nose to nose. Mamaw said she really missed a photo opp on that one! Then Ozzie has to leave and go in the house but I wasn’t ready to go in so we went to the front yard and who was there but Lelah! We had our little time together too, and I think I did better about the aggression but Lelah was so excited she was hard to control. We simply must get together more often. Betsy is goin to school—that’s why we haven’t seen her. Mamaw told her we’d been missin them both.
Okay—I’m tired. Take me in the house Mamaw; I think it’s bedtime. I just put myself to bed…
