We’re getting an oil change this morning in Mamaw’s Toyota Corolla. She just loves that car—and I sort of do too! It has a button you can push and the top opens up. And then I get to smell all of those wonderful “life” smells—hey, I gotta say—it is GREAT! So off to Toyota we go with the car and I GET TO RIDE ALONG! Mamaw wants me to have as many “human life experiences” as she can give me. That way I learn how to behave. That’s a very important element to Mamaw and Poppy—some people just act ignorant!

She leaves the car with the tech and takes me into the waiting room. I see all kinds of people coming and going. She tells me to sit…but I get anxious when people walk by. Some stop to see me, pet me or tell me how beautiful I am (now that I like to hear). All of the time there is constant movement in the waiting room, she is instructing me on how to act. She gives me a “treat” each time I obey her command. And then she pulls the squeeze water bottle out of her bag and the crowd just goes wild! Look at the dog drinking from the bottle—and such comments. Yep, I’ve learned lots of really neat stuff in the last 9 months!

While we are waiting, Mamaw gets the bright idea to make arrangements to come down here tomorrow and get a picture of Pete with me and Mamaw and upload it on the U Local page on KCCI-TV Website. It’s arranged—we’ll be back. And so home we come--$100 bucks less in our pockets.

We’re outside going potty. I pass a yellow and red thing that Mamaw certainly thinks IS NOT POOP. She gets a container and picks it up. In the house she immediately calls Miss Jessica, my Vet and tells her about it. Since I had some problems a few days back and had to take medication and stuff, Miss Jessica said we should run it in. So, in the car, to the vet, and I have to wait in the car. She isn’t gone long—and you’ll never believe what it was! It was an ear plug!!! It must have been there for some while cause it was pretty good sized. So Jessica says that means it was in her warm body long enough to expand. Can you believe that? Mamaw told Poppy that I’m the reason she can’t afford to drive a Lexus.    She rubs it in to Poppy every chance she gets…

Pounding, pounding, pounding is goin on outside our house! I’ve tried to be quiet but by golly it is getting irritating to me! We’ve made the bed and the noise continues. Mamaw goes downstairs and out the big glass doors to find out what is goin on. Our carpenters are out there tearing off the old siding that water has damaged. I was so curious too, that she put me on my leash and took me out to see. Okay—I get it now!
