Monday morning blues…I guess that’s me. I went out to go potty and came back in the house and threw up! Mamaw HATES THAT! She’s trying to figure out what I got into and I can’t even remember where I found it myself. But it is plastic, black and has letters on it—sounded like a good snack at the time! So Mamaw has to work extra hard again today—washing towels. She is determined to figure out how to make me stop eating everything in sight…oh my God—she’s on the phone with Deb Boswell at Bark Busters!!! Oh thank goodness—she had to leave a message for her so I’m safe (at least for today).
She is MAD—I am telling you she is mad! She told Poppy there is going to be more correction and less love around here cause she’s got to get a grip on my behavior. And I thought I was doing so good.
Poppy wants a “road trip” but can’t get hold of Regina—I guess we’ll be home. Okay, Mamaw will just get most of the laundry done and do her 2-job searches for Iowa Workforce. She’s in that office for a LONG TIME each time she has to do that. Poppy and I are trying to stay out of the way…
Poppy is lucky—he comes in the room and tells Mamaw he’s going over to the golf course to hit some balls. I wish he’d take me with him but he says I’d just be in the way. I’ll just go to my kennel and wait for the fire to go out of Mamaw’s eyes.
Our walk was stressful today—for both of us! Mamaw held my leash really short so I couldn’t get my head down to scarf up “junk food.” It’s uncomfortable for me and it hurts her shoulder where she fell down when the sliding glass doors broke.
Later in the day I saw Becky taking Ozzie for his evening constitution, and I yelled and yelled until she’d take me out. She keeps trying to get me to go out the big sliding doors in the basement but I’m scared—don’t know why. So she has to hook me up and take me out the front door to get to the back yard to hook me up with my “playground” cable. What a glorious day it was—of course I saw Ozzie and played a little bit but I don’t think he was in the mood to play. That’s okay Ozzie—along came Steve and Pepper. They were going for their evening walk. Steve’s gonna retire in a month so I reckin we’ll be seein more of him then. Oh gee—the little twin girls (they adore me) came along with their Mommy and I got loved, loved, loved. (That’ll teach you to hold out on me Mamaw). They are adorable and they insisted on having pictures taken with me! The Corky that was terribly abused (and hates everybody but his owner) went by too but we just don’t bother with him. He hates everybody! But we had a really nice outside time—Mamaw watered some plants and visited with the house workers here.
I’m lying on the living room carpet just minding my own business when I hear yelling! And Mamaw comes out of the office waving her hands around saying, “Just do it.” Oh, oh—Poppy is in trouble over somethin. Oh good God—they’re in a tussle about a dumb Internet search. Poppy thought her approach was backward and she took offense. Okay—let’s just calm down. She went back to the bedroom and God forbid—I followed. Definitely not the thing to do!!! Poppy came in and asked what else she wanted with her burger and she told him she wasn’t going to eat—just take Scarlett and the two of you have a good time, she says. Oops—included me in that one. So—the house is very silent. At 7:45 p.m. Poppy tiptoed into the room and asked her if she was going to watch 24 with him or in the bedroom. Well, she did give in and come to the living room but the silence remained. Directly after the show, I was kenneled and she went to bed. Hope things are better tomorrow—I didn’t hear a goodnight, kiss my *** or anything.
