March 8, 2010 (Mamaw's Home)

Poppy says Mamaw was up early this morning getting her suitcases unpacked. She’s afraid I’ll “go ballistic” if I see her doing that! Well, of course, I’d be thinking she was leaving again. Then she insisted on sweeping the kitchen floor and running that Rainbow vacuum cleaner to pick up my hair. She’s such a fuss bucket…

At precisely 10:00 a.m. they were there to pick me up at “Folsom Prison.” I was so glad to see them—I ran from one to the other not quite sure I was really “seeing” them. But, yep, Mamaw carried me to the car and sat me on her lap. I turned my head back and kissed her then and there! Oh Lord, she smells good to me! We didn’t go for a ride cause they gave me a bath and blew my fur dry so I’d look good for them. Poppy and Mamaw are very impressed with the detailed information the clinic sends home with them too. And today I weighed 18 ¾ lbs! They’re takin really good care of me.

We got home and I rolled and played and kissed em till we were all tired! Then Mamaw took me on a walk—I sure loved that AGAIN! I missed those a lot. When we got back home, I was kinda tired so I think I’ll rest a while. I hope Mamaw and Poppy can too…they got excited too!

It is so nice to feel like a “family” again—we got our three walks in today! Of course I’m still tryin to get the cigarette butts and paper as we walk along but Mamaw has gotten too smart for me—she just takes the leash and pulls me away from that stuff. She’s always telling me that it’s not good for me. I know she’s right but I just can’t seem to control myself.

I’m pooped—goin to bed early tonight. It is so nice to climb into my den and have Mamaw cover me up for the night. They are such good people—I hope my brothers have good family members too.
