It’s a little warmer today. My snow mountain runs all along our property. It’s really high too! Every time I go out, I insist on making “that walk” all along there. I took my nose a couple days ago and cut through the snow so I know where I am going.
I saw the old guy that is the cross guard down at the end of the block and I begged Mamaw to take me down to see him. As they visited, I watched the kids coming and going with my tail wagging. What a good time was had by all! Except this old guy told her they are closing this school down for a whole year while they tear some of it down and add back new stuff. She asked where the kids would all attend school and he said they are going to split them up with a number of schools here in the city. Well, that makes the old guy sad, but it makes us sad too. We like to watch the children come and go and sometimes I happen to be out as they are going by and get to see them. Sometimes they pet me—sometimes they just smile and say, “nice dog.” Either way, it pleases my soul.
I also sat out and watched a little boy across the street in the apartment building. He came out all bundled up and had a snow scoop three times as big as he is. He began trying to scoop the snow and he was so cute. He was in and out the patio door more than he was scooping but I’m sure his Mommy told him he did a good job.
Mamaw has her new blog put together so I guess my story is really going to get told. She is so excited about that! She just worked most of yesterday afternoon on it and finished it today. Then she had to notify everybody about the switch in sites. I hope people will go to the new one and keep up with my life’s adventures.
Oh boy—today is full of surprises. Poppy has to go pick up some eye equipment for exams he will do at Camp Dodge tomorrow so they left to go to that. When I heard Mamaw say, “I’ll start the CAR,” my ears sure did perk up! Oh, I don’t get to go—in the kennel I go.
Well, it wasn’t all that bad. They weren’t gone long and then she came in and asked if I wanted to go on a ride. Oh, that’s great stuff! I get so excited I tremble and whine a little. After a little while though, I relax and just enjoy it. Such fun those two. And I thought they would be too old to want to do anything—boy, was I wrong!!
