We woke up this morning to freezing rain! Oh, oh, how do we work this potty situation? When we headed outside it was so slick I just went SPLAT! Not going there—I came back in the garage. Mamaw and Poppy are talking about what to do with me cause they know as soon as they get me up, I need to go. She got some newspapers out of the recycle bin and laid them out near the garage door. Nope—I’m not going there. I don’t have accidents in the house and she never taught me to use a paper. Oh good grief—we walk the floor wondering what to do. A light bulb went off in her head and she grabbed the ice melt. She used it in a specific area of the driveway close to the little mountain of snow. Okay—we have to wait until it breaks the ice up a little. Well, FINALLY we were able to get Mamaw’s funky shoes on and out we went. She guided me where she wanted me to go cause she knew I would be safer that way. I got to let it all hang out – I gave a big sigh of relief.
Poppy is in the lower room rolling balls around again. I’m going to sit at the top of the steps and watch him. He is so entertaining—and he gets those balls to go where he wants them to go!
I’ll tell ya, I held my potty just as long as I could today. It was hard for me to try to walk on the half-mountains cause that’s slick too! It’s been kind of a discouraging day. It just seemed better if I napped. And besides that, this medication the vet has me on is pretty darned strong stuff. It promotes a tired feeling I don’t really like very much.
