Learning day today! Mamaw put the old short leash on me and carried me down into that hole I been talking about for so long. I got down there and my gosh, there are rooms down there! And I found out where the washer and dryer are too. Oh, and their pool table—I hear balls rolling around sometimes and I’ve wondered what that was. Today has been both exciting and scary for me. I’ve got to see some new things and try new things too. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what she was trying to get me to do so she lovingly took my front paws and put them on the first step up. Then she took my bottom and boosted me up saying, “Upsy daisy.” All of a sudden I found my butt up on the step too! She just kept going through the same process, saying the very same thing each time and encouraging me lovingly along the way. Well, I made it, I made it, I made it! When we got two steps from the top, I knew what to do and just hopped up by myself. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not brave enough to do that way down there.

Mamaw’s off to the doctor—and the weather is terrible! The snow is coming down so fast and Poppy is afraid it will be very slick. It sure was when we went on our long walk—I slipped around and so did she! Oh dear—will she be alright? I’m just not going to be able to rest until she gets back I tell you—this is worrisome to me…

She’s home—I’m so glad. Oh, she’s gonna shovel before she does another thing. And then outside we went—to get the mail and play in the snow. There really isn’t enough that it has entirely covered the old dirty and yellow snow but it’s close. I love to eat the new snow…Mamaw is pretty patient with me while I do that cause she knows how much I like it.

She wants to “practice” again going up the stairs. I’m not just crazy about all of that yet—just a little nervous but we’re gonna do it anyway. When she gets something in her head come hell or high water; it’s gonna happen.
