Cold this morning right out of the chute! We were going to take an early morning walk and it was just too cold; we turned around and came back. 7:30-8:00 a.m. is not the best time to go cause the sun hasn’t come up yet so it is still “night time” cold. I got to see Becky as she went to the mailbox and she promises me I can play with Ozzie this summer. I just can’t wait! Ozzie comes out and smells for me; and I do the same thing. It’s a good think we live right next door and sometimes we share the same yellow snow.

The bedroom sheets have been washed and back on the bed. It was the EXCILE ROOM as I was not invited to join her. Sometimes she does that to me…I suppose I get in the way trying to help her get the sheets in the right place…

We did go on another walk and even with Mamaw’s “funky shoes” she almost fell a couple of times. She told Poppy she thinks we need to try a different route cause the snow has melted and then refroze into ice. The “cleats” don’t really dig into that very well. Oh Lord—yet another walk? Well, this was really cool—this trip. We did change our route and walked down by the school all the way to Ashworth Road! It was a long walk but I enjoyed it cause all of the smells were new to me. There’s this funny looking metal things that has a red light, a green light, and a yellow light—it keeps changing colors. Well, Mamaw waited until the light was green and proceeded to take me to the other side of the street. There were cars everywhere and I was kind of scared—I looked at her a couple of times for direction. She would just say, “come on, it’s okay.” We waited on the other side of the street until that metal thing changed to green again and then she marched me to the other side. Interesting…and then the walk back home. I did okay but when we got home I was kind of tired.

Poppy started the car—“Want to go in the car, Scarlett”? I got all excited and was ready to go right now. I couldn’t stay still long enough for Mamaw to put the leash on—oh, there she has it. Okay, go potty before you get in the car. Mamaw opened the door and then lifted me in her arms to put me on her lap.  I laid my head on her shoulder—I’m ready to go. Oh, I forgot, it’s to PetSmart we went—haircut day. I’m a little hipper; a little nervous but they’re gonna leave me here anyway.

I really like LuAnn—she was my groomer. But I hated having to stand, and stand, and stand. Mamaw and Poppy came to watch the procedure and I wondered why the hell they didn’t just come and get me out of there. But no, there she was with a camera for heaven’s sake—like I want pictures of this torture. LuAnn said I was a good girl though and put a bow on my collar before she gave me to Mamaw. I’m so glad to get out of there—I’m thirsty; and TIRED. That takes lots of pee and vinegar out of me.
