February 16, 2010 (Mamaw's Birthday!)

What a whirlwind today is going to be! It is Mamaw’s birthday and the phone is ringing off the hook—both phones. Her e-mail messages and Facebook obligations are immense. I keep whining wanting a little attention but right now it isn’t happening!

I did get a walk though. It is kind of slippery cause we went really early this morning. I got to see a new dog—a little black, fuzzy thing with bows in her hair. We did get to stop and just say “hi” to each other dog fashion. But it was just too darned cold to stand around out there so we headed for home.

Deb and Hayleigh came. When they came in the door, I got too excited and had a “nervous pee” on the kitchen floor. Mamaw had tried to avoid that by taking me outside just before they came but the excitement was just too much for me. We played and loved for a while and I REALLY LIKE THAT! They don’t correct me as much as Mamaw does so I can get by with more. (grin)

Off to lunch and shopping they went leaving me to fend for myself in the kennel. She did put Miss Froggy in with me to keep me company—as if that would fix the matter. They weren’t gone too long though and came back to spend some more time with me.

Oh, Poppy is home from work! Well, not for long—he told me I had to go into the kennel “so he could take Mamaw out for her birthday.” Well, I shouldn’t be selfish about all of their time but darn it, she was just gone this afternoon. Oh well, settle down—her birthday only comes once a year. So, get over it Scarlett. It just appears to me that their approach is, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.” How does that strike your fancy?
