Wonders never cease! Mamaw open that big door that leads down into that hole I was telling you about. And there was Poppy, hitting pool balls around on this funny table that has “pockets” he calls them. I was so excited – she let me lay down and watch him. Now I can tell you one thing for sure~he can make those balls go into those holes ever-more fast!

Mamaw had to take me back to the Ashworth Animal Hospital today. My incision is red and very swollen. I guess that is because I have been licking it and licking it to try to get it to feel better. Dr. Robert E. Foss saw me today and prescribed medication for swelling and pain. He also gave me a prescription for infection (just in case). But then he put this cone around my neck and good God I was mortified! It has Velcro so you can make it fit any size animal. You cannot move your head or eat and drink. It is just awful…Mamaw promised me a ride in the car after the appointment but I was so ashamed I wanted to come home.

When we got home Mamaw took me to the rug to dry my paws and unhook the leash. I just backed myself into the corner cause I don’t want anybody to see me in THAT THING. She finally took it off so I could eat and drink.

Then we went on a wonderful walk together. I would have refused to go had I been required to wear THAT THING. The ice is melting and I am finding lots of other dogs poop in MY yard.  And there must be lots of people who smoke cause I’m seeing lots of them too. I try to casually and quickly pick them up as we walk but Mamaw has gotten on to me and won’t slow down.

We got home and I was pretty tired. The medicine is doing some of that to me. Mamaw didn’t want me to lick my wound any more so she put me in the kennel for a nap. I spent most of the rest of the day in there resting. She decided this would be a good time to figure out how to build a Blog so she was very quiet too.

And when Poppy got home I jumped up on the couch and kissed and kissed him. I really had to appreciate him—he would never make me wear that contraption! I ran back into the bedroom (used to be EXILE room) and jumped up on the bed. I rolled and rolled and had a wonderful time. Mamaw has been very smart. She put the dirty clothes baskets in the closet and picked up shoes so I no longer have to be kept out of that room. I am so glad – that bed keeps calling my name. It is a waterbed so it rocks me back and forth and it is WARM. Love it!
