Oh man, I’ve only been up for half an hour and already I am back in my kennel. You know Mamaw has this stupid blue mattress pad she puts on the side of the twin recliners she wants me to sit on. I just don’t know why she is so fussy about that so I test her. This morning is the first time I kinda snapped at her and bowser wowser, I was in the kennel before I knew what was happening. She keeps telling Poppy she wants company to feel like they can visit without getting hair all over their clothes so she tries to restrict me. I wonder how long I gotta stay in here?

It’s going to continue to be an ugly day I fear. I did get a walk—but I was antsy. I had trouble settling down. We got home and I jumped on Poppy’s side of the couch. Mamaw got right after me and I showed her my “ugly face.” She promptly caught me up and back to the kennel I went! I think we’re look at a long day.

She left me in the kennel and she and Poppy went out to lunch. They love the tenderloin place called Smitty’s on the South side of Des Moines. Guess that definitely means I will not get a ride in the car today. They came back and the three of us went for a walk. Mamaw is instructing Poppy about how it is to be done while she is on her cruise. I’ll bet he’s gonna do it his way; one way or the other.

Mamaw ran bath water and I got sprayed off! Well, it was really messy during that second walk and she was thinking about doing this anyway. We had a ball—she dried me with a shammy and then used the blow dryer. It was lots of fun and so I think I’ll try to be better the rest of the day. I have my new leather collar on too! It’s pretty nifty…

Poppy actually WALKED with us last this afternoon. It was really nice to have some conversation as we went around the curve. She is instructing him on how I should be required to act on my walks when she is gone. I predict I won’t get a walk every day. And she’s already warned me that I’ll have to spend some time being kenneled at the vet hospital while Poppy works on weekends. (smile)
