Today is New Year’s Eve—another first for me. I heard Mamaw and Poppy talking about just staying home and staying safe. Well—we’ll see.
First trip outside this morning I did a nose dive into the snow pile. It was so slick my legs went right out from under me! I made like a pancake! Mamaw was worried I might be hurt—well, I was; my pride. Just like when she fell down, you don’t want anybody to see you. But, I got smart and I am moving a lot SLOWER now.
Second trip out was to see Cully (Ozzie’s Dad). He had a kidney removed a couple of weeks ago and Mamaw wanted to ask him how he felt. And of course, he wanted to see Me. Well, he was in his car, on an icy driveway, so she picked me up and put me up to his car window. Cully said, “We redheads have to stick together.” I love that man…
Mamaw has printed and printed pictures of me to go in my journal. I like that but I get bored when she won’t pay attention to me. She finally let me in the EXILE room. I just kept after her to see what was in there. I ran in and jumped right up on the bed. Then I saw myself in the mirror and thought I looked pretty good for a five month old! I rolled and played and jumped and had a wonderful time in there. When she told me, OUT, I didn’t want to go.
And then I have the need to latch on to anything I can find (that I’m not supposed to have) and I keep hearing Mamaw say, “You little shit – give it to me.” Well—you get it. She doesn’t want me to have it and I want to have it so there you go. We’ll see who wins! That Bark Busters lady is going to have a fit over my behavior!
We tried to go for a walk this afternoon but when we rounded the corner of the garage, the cold wind just about took our breath away—guess we’ll pass for today.
New Year’s Eve—I wonder what is planned? Well, Poppy got off work and was home by the time Mamaw got back from grocery shopping. They’ve decided they aren’t going out. It’s cold and kind of slick and so HOME is where the heart is. We watched some TV and we played awhile. Mamaw was interested in the Iowa State Insight Bowl—she was happy they won. We are just going to go to bed and ring in the New Year. When we get up in the morning, it will be 2010!
