Up early--Mamaw dragged my "travel kennel" up from the basement. She's all dressed up to go someplace and so is Poppy! Oh good--we're goin somewhere today! WRONG... She rushes me around like I'm some kind of old driftwood or somethin and then throws some "stuff" in my travel bag and she picked up the kennel with one hand and escorted me to Jessie and Steve's house.
That's not bad! I get to see Pepper. Sometimes Pepper gets territorial with me and other times it goes pretty good. Maybe that's the reason for the kennel? Anyway, SHE INFORMS ME THAT I'M TO STAY WITH THEM TODAY! Good Lord! What have I done now? Yeah, I know I threw up on the carpet the other day but I thought she was over that by now... and off she goes without even lookin back!
Now don't get me wrong--I really like this family BUT THEY'RE NOT MY FAMILY! I am worried maybe they won't come back for me. I sat and watched out the window until noon waitin on em...and when Jessie took me out to go potty I headed straight for home. I pulled and tugged and dug my nails in to try to get there--but to no avail. I'm not gonna pee in their yard I tell ya, I'm not! Pepper might get mad at me if I do for heaven's sakes!
In the afternoon I was exhausted just trying to get home to Mamaw and Poppy. And would you believe it--I was still with them at dinner time? They eat like Mamaw and Poppy do...only they don't have a "can't live without it" table. And then finally Steve and Jessie grabbed up my kennel and leashed me and I GOT TO GO HOME! Trust me--I'm like Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz--There is no place like home. And I finally peed in my own yard. I was kinda about to burst holdin it all day I can tell ya.
A while later here came my family...oh, how I love them so. Poppy tried to catch me before I leaped out of the kennel but that didn't work! I ran right back to Mamaw and started kissin and kissin her. I needed for her to know that I love and adore her and oh Lord--how I missed her today! And then it was Poppy's turn: I ran right over to him and started kissin and kissin and didn't stop until he laughed! Welcome home, family.
I guess they got all of their business done and had a wonderful dinner with son, Mike. All is good...now Mamaw and Poppy--stay home!
