When we got up this morning there is measurable snow on the ground. First trip out Mamaw wouldn’t let me drag her down the hill cause she was afraid she’d fall down. I think I got better traction than she does. But the 2nd time around—well, it was Ozzie out there and I JUST HAD TO SEE HIM and wish him a “happy snow day.” Mamaw made me go downstairs and let me out the big double doors without a leash! Well, I had to poop first (darn it) but then I ran right over to Ozzie and Becky. Becky was worried cause she noticed right away “no leash” and Mamaw said, “I’ve been working with Miss Scarlett off leash and decided to try this today. That was perfectly fine with me…I got rubs and smells and all that good stuff from MY OZZIE so I’m good to go the rest of the day now.
Poppy didn’t have to work today and it’s a good thing! The snow came down faster, the wind came up, and it was blowing everywhere. We wanted to go on a walk but the minute we stepped foot on the sidewalk it WAS SLICK! Not a walk day—at least that’s what Mamaw says.
We all worked on our own projects for the day. Some of those included: getting stuff looked at for taxes, reading and writin stuff, lookin stuff up and a well deserved nap. Poppy and I were just pooped out and after all—there is JUST SO MUCH ONE CAN DO…
Mamaw on the other hand manages to ALWAYS FIND SOMETHIN SHE THINKS NEEDS ATTENTION. We’ve learned just to let he go at it.
Mamaw made spaghetti for dinner—only she just made enough for HER! “Well, my Lord Mamaw—what about our Poppy? He’s got to eat too!” She said he had to go to the office party tonight so he would eat with staff. I asked her, “Aren’t you gonna go too”? And she said, “nope—no wives and no dogs allowed—no matter how well behaved they are.” Guess we are stayin in…Mamaw is a little worried about Poppy goin out in the blizzard though. And that IS what the WEATHERPERSON has said for most of the day.
She worked on the computer for a while (usin her laptop so she could be in the living room where I watched the door for Poppy to come home. She worked on her new NOOK Poppy and I got her for Christmas. And she did more pictures. It all takes time folks—you ought to know that.
We finally went to bed and “cuddled” to watch TV. That’s the only way Mamaw will give in and relax. If she’s ‘upright’ she’ll think of something that needs to be done and off she goes…
We were happy to see Poppy got home safely. Well, to be truthful—Mamaw was ASLEEP but I heard the garage door open, then I smelled him, then I SAW HIM and then WE HUGGES AND KISSED. After that, Poppy stroked Mamaw till she woke up and they talked for a while. Finally I’m in the kennel and the lights are out. Hey Poppy—will I see ya in the morning?
