It's beginning to "smell a lot like Christmas" around here.  Everybody is comin and goin and I'm stayin home!
This morning it was Poppy's turn.  He had so many errands to run and so many Christmas cards to pick out.  And he has to go to the bank--and to HyVee and oh my gosh; don't really know what all he's to do.

Mamaw is busy getting the house picked up and puttin the "living flowers" in front of the sliding glass doors downstairs where they can capture the sunlight.  And by Lord...she's carryin a basket with dirty clothes in it!  She can't do that yet--she's got bleach water and cleaning rags and Poppy's hankies soakin in the washer.  She realized right away she was gonna have to get the ball rolling.  By noon she was done with the laundry and was cleaned up.

I noticed today now that the weather isn't so great that she isn't wearin "quite as much" jewelry.  Well, she just has to cover it up with her coat and scarf anyway so what's the big deal right?

And then Mamaw picked up all of her errand stuff and out the door she went--leavin Poppy and me to fend for ourselves.  We'll just lay back and take a nap while she's gone!  And she was gone a long time I can tell ya--it was 5:00 p.m. when she walked in the door.  She said she had a long wait at Barnes and Noble Book Store gettin the update downloaded on her new e-reader.  Then she bought a book to put on there.  And then she had newspaper ads she carried with her and checked out all of that stuff she was interested in.  She walked in with lots of stuff--Poppy and I knew it was best to just keep our mouths shut.

And when she walked in the door, she said, "Um-smells wonderful in here."  Yep, Poppy and I got busy cookin the turkey so all she had to do was set our "I can't live without it table," and cook the potatoes, get the fruit, pour the milk and butter the bread.  Did I tell ya they work pretty good together?  Sad though--I GOT NONE; as usual...

Mamaw sat and read her new e-reader and didn't want to play with me and after being gone all afternoon too!  Finally I begged hard enough she went back to the waterbed with me.  And then she rubbed my tummy, talked "sweet talk" and brushed me.  It's all good folks!  I got to stay for a while and then out to my kennel via Mamaw.  Then she picked up her e-reader and her glasses and went back to the bedroom.  Now don't you read all night so you can't get up in the mornin, "I told her...she ignored me.

Night e-reader, and Mamaw and Poppy and all you other people in the world.  And especially Miss LuAnn, Miss Jessica the vet, Becky and Ozzie and Jessie and Steve...
