Poppy is home today! I’m gonna work on getting in some extra lovin I can tell ya! Just couldn’t wait to get outside to potty, have my treats (I always gotta do the tricks for Mamaw first though) and get belly rubs. Poppy has that special way of “makin me tap dance” that is so special; Frankly, I wish he’d never stop…
Somebody did a bad thing to Mamaw’s car!!!! When she was out on errands the other day, somebody hit her front, right bumper. Poppy asked her last evening if “she hit something” when she was out and my Lord—she bounced off the couch like a speeding bullet and went to look. I thought she was gonna cry—but she got mad instead so Poppy and I decided we’d best let her cool down.
Well, this morning Poppy thinks they should go wash the car and go to Charles Gabus Ford and have them take a look at it—ya know; get an estimate? So they left me—high and dry. When they got home, Mamaw was still pretty upset—the estimate is $500 and she lost her favorite mitten! Life could get rough around here today so maybe Poppy and I should take a nap.
Instead of the nap, she took me on a very long walk and I got to go off leash again. Well, let me tell ya, it was fabulous!!! The snow has all melted and I can get my nose anywhere I want it and the smells nearly made me pass out they were so good. And I was good too! Mamaw just smiled as we made our rounds and then we came up on Ashworth Road and she put the leash back on me. That is a very, very busy street and she kinda worries I might dart into the street or something. People everywhere were honking and waving at us—I think they think I’m a STAR or something.
Got home—I was wet and dirty from front paws all the way to my back paws so she took me directly to the tub and told me to STAY. I know what that means—she’s gonna take that shower whatcha ma call it and run water on my underside to get me washed off. And then I’m wrapped in a towel and Mamaw is rubbin me down…very nice. Still pretty damp, I climbed up on the couch beside Poppy and took a nap!
When I woke up, Mamaw asked if I would like to go on a car ride. I sure would! Somehow another Christmas got by us and we didn’t go out lookin at the beautiful decorations so I kinda thought me owed me one. She drove right back to the places she and Poppy had been to look for her favorite mitten. Round and round she went look for it under cars and stuff till I was nearly dizzy. No could find….she’s sad about that too.
Ozzie came to stay with us (guess you could say we were ‘babysitting’) while Becky went to get groceries and to the beauty shop. He’s still a little spooked about when he had to stay with us cause he won’t sit down. He does love the treats though…and he always gets more than me. Mamaw wants me to keep my girlish figure don’t ya know?
The waterbed was wonderful…I’ve had a busy day…hope I can stay here all night. Nope—didn’t happen…

Hi, Scarlett! Sorry to hear about your Mamaw's car! I wondered if you saw me in the field in back of our townhouses the other day. I didn't mind my mom and ran down the hill and, as always, began to sniff and hunt. And guess what! I FINALLY caught something! A mouse. I found out they're so much fun to play with! Then mom came and put a stop to that. She put me on my leash and said something about "I guess that's one less mouse to find in my basement!" I think I did a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Scarlett! Hope to see you soon!
Love, Pepper
