Mamaw got around and got "gussied up" again right away--she has to get her car down to Toyota of Des Moines by 10:00 a.m. Yep--you'll never believe what came in the mail? A RECALL LETTER...she told Poppy--"Oh no, this car has been so good and now this." Sometimes that's the way it is...
She started her car after she let me outside; and Poppy started his car too! I'm lookin from one to the other to see if by chance I get to go for a ride. I have to hold that pose; with the sad brown eyes--and WAIT! Finally Mamaw said, "You want to go for a ride"? I was ready--so ready I couldn't hold still for her to get me leashed up! She put me in Poppy's car and he pulled out of the driveway. I look back and I'm wonderin what SHE'S GONNA DO. But then I felt better cause she followed us; well a little ways anyway.
When we got to Toyota, Mamaw had beat us there! She went on the Interstate and Poppy took I-235--she thinks she's so smart! Anyway, car is in to be checked and here she comes out the door. I slide over so she can "share" the seat with me. She gets her seat belt all snugged up and away we go.
Poppy pulled in to PetSmart--Oh my gosh! That's right--that's why she insisted on brush, brush, brush again this morning. I'm takin LuAnn's Christmas present to her today! When we got there I pulled and pulled on that short leash. I knew exactly which way to go and I wanted to get there in a hurry. I went right in the groomin place and waited till she could see me. She was just finishin up with a cockapoo and what a vicious character he was! Mamaw said he was just jealous cause I'm so beautiful...ya think?
We gave LuAnn her present and she gave me one too! She had a little bag of all kinds of different dog treats for me! I was excited and when we got home, Mamaw gave me one.
It's gonna be nice when this holiday stuff is all done...we are all so tired! They finished up that wonderful turkey breast for dinner tonight and we just vegged out--I mean vegged out. I just couldn't wait to get to that waterbed and Mamaw told me I fell asleep snorin, with the tip of my tongue hangin out my mouth--see, I told ya I was exhausted!!!
Poppy came to bed and I didn't want to leave Mamaw so he just climbed in with us. It's pretty obvious Mamaw doesn't think the queen size bed is big enough for the three of us cause she got up and picked me up and to the kennel I went. Well, I suppose she's probably right--I was stretched out on the bed like I owned it or somethin. Night all...

- Since 1982 I have wanted to write a book. But it was never possible for me to dedicate myself to writing so I pushed it aside. Permanent retirement caught up with me in March 2010. I began writing that novel and it is finished; now in its 4th editing. And during that time, I've become selfish about having it published. You see, it is a true story--MATCH.COM--and much too intimate to share with the masses. It is being held back for family and friends to enjoy at the proper time. And as previously mentioned, Miss Scarlett came into our lives at just the right time to completely enjoy her. She had a voice in this house from the very beginning and wanted to share feelings from her point of view from the beginning--I gave her that audience. Then she decided to take a break for nearly a year--she is back folks!
