Why is it at Christmas time there are so many errands to run for heaven’s sakes? Mamaw has just been in and out so much she forgot to tell ya that Ron from Home Pro’s, Inc. came and put the new glass in the window. That was 3 days ago—she still doesn’t have her drapes “draped” (that’s what she calls it.)
Poor Poppy—I just don’t get to see enough of that guy! He’s been over-worked and just runs from one examination room to the next. “Poppy, why are ya so busy this time of year anyway,” I asked him? And he told me that some people have a “cafeteria plan” with their office insurance and it has to be used by December 31st so everybody is rushin his office to get that done. I bet he’s gonna be pleased when this year is over…do ya think?
More errands—I just shake my head. She did do one good thing though and Poppy is very proud of that! She took that Nook e-reader back to Barnes and Noble and asked them for help (this is the 3rd time, I think.) So, they credited back the reader without wi-fi and then she bought the reader with wi-fi. Now she can go shopping for her new books at home. Just make sure if ya buy one of these modern technology dudes, that you buy the one with wi-fi IF YOU DON’T HAVE IT IN YOUR HOUSE…otherwise ya gotta go where wi-fi is offered any time you want to buy a book. Mamaw is now a very happy camper—Poppy is a happy camper—and I’m gonna be a happy camper too! Maybe she’ll stay home more…
She stopped at Trader Joe’s and bought a loaf of that good Italian bread she just loves. Last night at the football party, Becky said that Cully just loved it when his daughter would go there and get it for him. Becky said she hasn’t had a chance to go there yet so Mamaw did a little “thank you” thing and delivered it to her. She was very pleased…Mamaw know how to do that real good!
We’re having what weather people call a December “thaw.” That means some of the ice and snow is meltin down to water. She bundled up again today and went out to scoop some more of that stuff off the drive way. She wanted me to go outside with her but I said, “Naw.” I could hear the scrape, scrape, scrape as she worked…
Gotta get out of here now…got a bone or two to bury while Mamaw isn’t lookin. She makes the bed so pretty for me and then I go back and bury the bones so nobody knows where they are. It’s a great life! But I gotta think of some New Year’s Resolutions cause Mamaw expects me to share with her on New Year’s Eve…hummmmmm—I’m thinkin.
