Poppy is home AGAIN TODAY! I hope he’ll take us for another ride in his big car—with the top open! Then Mamaw asks him what his plans are for the day and he was “evasive” whatever that means. She told him she just hated it when he gave her that kind of answer. So he asked her what SHE was going to do. She said, “Go to Nevada to meet up with Emily for lunch—and then a few other things while I’m up that way.” Poppy told her to just go ahead and go—he would be available for the Mediacom technician.

And so while she was getting “all duded up AGAIN,” he went to the grocery store. She was right there to help him get the groceries put away and then she had to go. She promised me a walk when she got home, just like yesterday. She keeps her promises to me too!

Off she goes to the post office to get her sister’s birthday present in the mail—that’s Monday. And after that she said she was drivin North and Poppy called her on her cell phone. He said there was a “mix-up” at Valley West and they wanted him to come to work. They decided she didn’t need to come back home, Poppy would just put me in the kennel and go and she would cut her day a little shorter and would get home in time for a long walk and some lovin. I’m sure glad too—I’m missin her lovin!

When she got home she was really happy! Gotta wonder what she’s up to these days don’t ya? I complained a little about her “2fer days” and she just said, “Look Scarlett, I’m old—but not dead.” Guess that means she’d like to live a little before she dies. And Poppy works every weekend so she’s always on her own so I just told her she needs to make more friends in Des Moines that she can run around with. Poppy comes home “bone tired” and doesn’t care if he goes out—he’s been seeing people all day.

Aw—the waterbed. I sure missed it last night. It was hard to get settled cause I just love rollin around and rubbin the side of my face on those sheets. It smells like Mamaw and Poppy—my two favorite smells. We fell asleep and I don’t know when she took me to my kennel but that’s where I she says I belong…
