Poppy and I can definitely tell when Mamaw begins to feel better. This morning she was up and ready early—even her hair washed! We soon found out why too. She said she needed to run Miss Betty’s clean clothes over to her while Poppy was here to answer the phone cause she’s “on call” for a guy that’s supposed to come today. We’ll see—but I’m gonna tell ya this: If she has to wait around ALL DAY and then he doesn’t come, I’m gonna run away from home! That’s how awful that could get…Run Poppy, Run. See Miss Scarlett run too!

She got back so Poppy could leave for work and right away headed to the basement to do the next installment of laundry. She asked me to come help her and I always feel privileged to do that too. She always tells me she doesn’t know how she would ever get the laundry done if I didn’t help her—makes my buttons burst too. We got that started and now she heads to the kitchen and I smell her beef roast searing. Oh my gosh—I hope I at least get a taste of that tonight.

I can tell she’s getting antsy though…the morning is gone and NO CALL. The afternoon came and went and no call. I’m afraid she’s gonna blow her cork! I can’t say I blamer her either; he could have called to free us up to do something else. Oh well, it is what it is.
Poppy got home with the groceries—yes, she wouldn’t even go get groceries cause she’s afraid the weather is gonna beat us before we get windows done so when I say she was “on call”—I mean she was “on call.” We hardly stepped out of the house—just long enough for my essentials. She put the groceries away and they talked about getting this new batch of clean clothes to Miss Betty so they would be FREE for tomorrow. She picked up the clothes and a book about Mediums (whatever that is) and off she went.

The evening meal wasn’t to their liking at all…new recipe. Mamaw always has trouble with new recipes. Don’t know why she insists on trying them—leave that to the experts will ya? And after that I just got too aggressive for Mamaw. I wanted to play rough, I wanted to be outside a lot, I wanted what I WANTED and she wasn’t happy about that. She said, “If Mamaw ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy.” She was right—I had to spend the evening with Poppy. Okay—go ahead—make my day!!! I just lay their really nice touchin his body and slept almost all night right there. Now—what do ya think of those apples, Mamaw?
