Poppy asked Mamaw what was on her agenda today and she told him she had to be available for Mediacom from 10:00-1:00 for service. She made that “isn’t that ridiculous look” and that said it all. She has to baby-sit Mediacom!

He’s glad he has to go to work today and not deal with that. He asked for a blank check to HyVee and Mamaw didn’t ask what for. Well, that’s good cause we have a surprise comin for her later.

The morning we spent playing and waiting, and waiting and waiting. Mediacom called right at 1:00 and said they could come right then—she shoved me in the kennel. Two young men came and they got right to work. Mamaw liked that….and then she let me out of the kennel. They thought I was cute so I behaved. It didn’t take very long during the diagnostics when they had the problem diagnosed. The wireless router needs to be replaced. I got a couple pats on the head and they were gone.

Mamaw calls Poppy to tell him she’s gonna go get a new router. (Poppy was worried that the surprise just might show up when she’s gone but he couldn’t tell her)—and I’ve zipped my mouth shut. Thankfully she came right back. Now we wait, wait, wait again till someone can come hook it up.

She wasn’t home very long and the doorbell rang…we answered it together. There stood a man with a floral arrangement—Mamaw’s favorites! Red roses in a clear vase. She said to him, “Oh, I think maybe you have the wrong house.” He said, “No, this is for Andi.” I thought I was gonna have to prop her up. She took the bouquet to the kitchen and read the card. It said: Mamaw—because we love you and appreciate you—Miss Scarlett and Poppy. I thought she was gonna cry and I got hugs, hugs, hugs. Hope she saves some for our Poppy.

Mamaw wants spaghetti for dinner. She gets it started and is just waitin for Poppy to walk in the door to put the spaghetti in the boiling water. She won’t let me in the kitchen when she cooks. I gotta lay on the rug. They said the spaghetti was good—I got none. And after I helped send her the flowers too—don’t ya think that was kinda rude???
