Mamaw was sayin that some places won’t be open today and there will be no mail delivery. She complained about that a little saying that since the Post Office is so “broke” why do they get so much paid holiday time? How would I know that?

It was, without a doubt, a gorgeous day again! Poppy went off to work to try to earn a dollar so he can keep a dime after the Government is done with him. And Mamaw has committed to helping out with Ozzie two times today—Cully isn’t home and Becky will be working.

We sent for our walk and then she made me come in the house so I could take Ozzie to relieve himself. She’s happy I’m not jealous. Well, that’s because he always comes to the door and wants to come in. Mamaw has gotten in the habit of lettin him in and we touch noses. Then he goes straight to the kitchen and wants 3 Snap treats—I only get 1. After that he goes to my toy box and takes home what he wants. I had a great big bone and he grabbed it out and begged to take it home—he got it! Now how did he do that, I wonder? And at last, it is walk time. She’s just like an old mother hen with him and he loves her too!

She went off in the afternoon “to run an errand” she said. When she got back she decided she had better get to writin that story of hers. Every time she boots up that new laptop she says, “I love this thing.”

Towards evening she got really BRAVE and took both Ozzie and me out at the same time. I think we could maybe figure this out if we do it enough. The main thing is we get our leashes tangled up but don’t give up on Mamaw—she’ll figure something out.

She thought she would sand some more but she got so wrapped up in the phone and writin that it didn’t happen. The phone rang while they were eatin supper—it was Deb. She’s comin to visit until she has to go to the airport and pick up Miss Hayleigh. Yep, she’s comin home from Florida tonight. We played a while and then they just ignored me—Poppy went to the bedroom and shut the door so I couldn’t go in with him—so I just put myself to bed. The constant chatter between the two of them lulled me to sleep.
