The weather is cooling down now and I’ve heard people saying the snow could be flying anytime now. But what a terrific October we have had! Mamaw and I just are not going to complain about that at all!

Poppy is home—it’s so nice to have a little more time with him. Gosh, there for a while he was working so much we missed him—Mamaw and me. So I will spend time with him today cause Mamaw came out of the bedroom lookin pretty darned good to be just stayin home today.

She’s got lots of “stuff” to do though before this trip we’re goin on. She went outside and gathered some more leaves in bags. She’s haulin her “outside stuff” inside for winter but she left the little tricycle out there until just before we leave. When she came haulin in the scarecrow it scared me a little but they went down to the basement and when she came back up, she had left that thing down there and brought up a wreath to hang outside the front door.

Her schoolmate, Donna, needed help with the computer so she went over there for a couple of hours. Its nice when somebody can teach others’ something new—isn’t it? And so she invited me to go outside with her but I declined while she watered everythin good for winter and put the hose and that stand away too. I hope we don’t run out of basement room for all that stuff she’s haulin in. The chairs and table from the lower deck was put in there last week so I’m getting a little worried about space. Sure hope it doesn’t have to come upstairs and live with us!

For dinner Poppy did the “grill thing”—maybe for the last time this season. He fixed steaks and Mamaw did the hash browns and prepared fruit. They enjoyed—BUT I GOT NONE…

On top of that—no waterbed tonight either. Mamaw says she’s tired and doesn’t want to mess around with my wantin to play—so there. Night everybody…
