I’m waitin for the methodical way we start our day to change. Well—it did today. Laundry was first on the agenda—know why? I’m hatin those outside noises right here on 50th street; they are so loud! When Mamaw wants me to go outside, she comes at me with the leash and I “play games with her.” Not good but it’s fun…nice little diversion. She told Poppy this morning as he was leavin for work (YES AGAIN) that she isn’t going to ask me if I need to go out anymore—she’s gonna make me come to her. I think that’s perfect cause 6-8 times a day all I hear is ‘Scarlett, you have to go outside potty?”
She says she needs to get gas in her car cause she’s goin to help Emily register online for her college classes tomorrow morning. Of course I want to go—you don’t even have to ASK ME. I got to sit in the front seat cause there wasn’t anybody with us and I like that. I lay down and put my chin on the big, high place between our seats. We got gas and went for a ride. The weather was cooler so we just enjoyed ourselves a whole bunch. (smile) We got back home and I could tell that Mamaw was goin to leave again—she went around and closed every door she could; then she got the garbage container out from under the sink—and left me! She didn’t put me in the kennel—what’s up with that? I just sort of looked around and didn’t know what to do with myself. This is new to me…it’s kinda scary. I’m goin to my kennel on my own; so there!
When she got home I point blank asked her what the deal was. She said, “I had to run to get a couple of things and meet Hayleigh at PetSmart to give her hair care products to her and I just wondered how you would like to have a little bit more freedom.” Hump—have to think about that one.
And now she’s workin on her ‘projects’ she calls em. Too many at a time if you ask me She doesn’t ask me…
Poppy is home for the night…late too. He looks so tired and worn out. “How many more of these days Poppy, before ya get a rest?” I asked him. He says he has Thursday and Friday off but that is dentist days –I didn’t ask what THAT was all about. He didn’t sound extremely happy about it.
Shall we call it a night? Tough day for all of us so let’s do. We’ll try to get a better day in tomorrow.
