Gonna be a hot, sticky day again today! Mamaw hates it—I do too! It’s hot on my red hair but she always soaks my scarf in cold water before we go walking. Today however, when we headed down to the trail, it was closed off. That’s not good…so we came back and went around our circle waving and speaking with our neighbors.
Bob Kennedy, who bought the house next door, delivered the rock and bark today. I can tell it is a very HEAVY job but she asked him cause he’s got a pickup. He really is a nice man and he and Mamaw visit from time to time—you know; just being neighborly. She decided it was way too hot and humid to work with that stuff right now so she came in the house and Hayleigh was up for the day. She told Miss Hayleigh that they should get dressed up and go shopping while it was so hot and then in the evening they could work with the landscaping stuff.
When we woke up this morning, we didn’t have any power. So ya have to do something special to get the garage door up. That has just put Mamaw in a bit of a tizzy this morning cause she’s got plans…
Poppy is busy doing his own thing—has the day off but you wouldn’t know it. He has to run to the office and look up some information on a patient and then get his hair cut. He doesn’t feel very well—his gout is bothering again. So everybody is on their own today.
Mamaw and Hayleigh said they went to Godfathers for a slice of pizza and a drink for lunch. Then off to Jordon Creek Mall they went. They looked in EVERY ladies store and Hayleigh did find a couple of tops for school. Mamaw came home EMPTY HANDED…can’t hardly believe that.
Dinner was chicken breasts (on the grill), hash browns and Muscatine melon—ymmmmmmm. Poppy loaded the dishes in the dishwasher and ‘the girls’ headed outside to get their landscaping done. It sure didn’t take very long with the two of them either! Hayleigh was a great help.
Poppy has taken his medication and will rest on the waterbed now. Mamaw won’t let me in to bother him cause he’s workin again tomorrow. Do ya think it’s all this extra workin that’s makin his gout flair up? I’m gonna ask him what he thinks…you rest Poppy—we love ya.
TV, playing and resting—fine way to end an evening….night Hayleigh—night Mamaw—night Poppy. What kind of trouble do ya think we can get into tomorrow? Check back in and find out…
