I was being rushed this morning to get my ‘duty’ finished—back in the house—Mamaw to the basement to wake Miss Hayleigh—we’re goin to the Des Moines River Dog Park before it gets too hot! I’m stuck in the back seat again cause we got a guest but I didn’t mind—Mamaw just keeps saying, “We’re going to the Dog Park.” Patience my dear…

We started out in the area for little dogs—none there. We went into the big dog area and what a mistake that turned out to be. Here came a lady with two dogs; one a border collie. He decides he doesn’t like me even though I go up to him and TRY to be friendly. He chases me around the area and I’m just yelling like crazy! Lord—was I ever scared. At that point I think I’m done at the park—just not a good experience for me. Then the stupid dog jumps up on Mamaw and Hayleigh and gets them all muddy. Come on Mamaw—can we go now? But here comes another lady with two very nice looking ladies—curly they were. I was okay with them—but not comfortable…my ego has been bruised. We didn’t hang around long before we headed home.

I knew these ‘gals’ were gonna do this to me. Mamaw got me in the bathtub as soon as we got home. No shampoo today—just washy, washy. She dries me some with the towel and then drags my butt out on the deck to dry. She has her ways of humiliating me. She’s getting the apples picked up cause I think the girls have plans for later. I was glad to get back in the house this time too. It just hasn’t been a very good start to my day…

The ‘gals’ are getting duded up to go shopping again. Now—how many times can you go shopping before you’ve got more stuff than you’ll ever need? They didn’t ask me what I thought. In the kennel—see ya later—out the door. Okay—I’m not very happy with the way things are goin today anyway.

I had to giggle to myself—when they came back, they are carryin all kinds of bags, dry cleaning and groceries. And they look tired! Mamaw is complainin that her feet hurt. They get stuff put away and they flop! It’s kinda nice just to relax and nobody worried about dinner. Mamaw had some cereal and Hayleigh had leftovers from the night before. Veggin out is way cool…wish Mamaw could relax more often.

Toward sunset Miss Hayleigh took her camera and went up to the trail to take some pictures. I just snuggled up to Mamaw and we watched some TV. Feels sooooo good!  Aw—Poppy; yes you wonder what happened to him. Well, I think he’s had enough of “gals week’ and took off after work to go to Rice Lake to play golf with John and Monsignor tomorrow. Then he’s stayin overnight yet Friday to visit with them and close their summer season and I think he said he’d drive home early Saturday morning to get ready to WHAT go back to work? Oh boy…I miss him.
