At least I’m not “skittish” of this date—but Mamaw is. She told Hayleigh she’s glad we’re stayin in today. Deb is coming for lunch and doing a little project for Mamaw…we gotta wait and see what that is.
The noises outside are scarin me and worryin Mamaw. She’s on the Internet tryin to figure out how to best deal with this situation. Frankly my dear—I don’t know what the answer is. I think Mamaw is a little disappointed cause she had dedicated a whole year to my training—and now this! I gotta give her time to think and try to work this out then we’ll get something done I’m sure.
Hayleigh isn’t very frisky today. I think she’s tired…so Mamaw is goin to wash the sheets and make the bed while she watches those ‘girly’ shows on TV. Mamaw made me go outside with her to hear those awful noises while she picked up the apples, washed out the garbage container and pulled more weeds. She’s just a workaholic I tell you—a workaholic! But I can tell she’s got something on her mind—she’s pretty quiet and serene and I see a pensive look on her face from time to time. It’s gonna be okay Mamaw—trust me!
It’s getting close to lunch time so I know Deb will be along soon. Yep—she’s here. She has such a gentle spirit I like to get close to her and cuddle. That being said—and done—they had a great lunch (of which I got none).
They’re movin on to the project. It’s in the bedroom and Mamaw won’t let me in to see. I hear an electrical piece of equipment making a weird noise. Then after awhile I hear Mamaw say, VERY GOOD! Now I’ll work with the fabric later cause I want to take my time.
We play, we visit, and much too soon it’s time for them to go. They’re goin out of town this weekend to some sweet corn festival so they gotta get home and get around. Let’s get Hayleigh’s stuff and get it stashed in the pickup. Now we say goodbye—hate that—love the company.
The rest of the afternoon Mamaw came and went from the bedroom. Don’t ask me cause I don’t have a clue what she’s doin in there—she still won’t let me in. But she definitely antsy today and just can’t seem to relax. She didn’t even fix herself any dinner but went back outside to work. First it was to sweep the garage (and that’s A BIG JOB! Then she took out after those darned apples again. I wonder how long that’s gonna last before she doesn’t HAVE to do that anymore? The yard always looks nice though…
The garage door opened and there was Poppy. I was so glad to see him and realized right away how much I had missed him! Hugs and kisses all around—a little snugglin too. He went lookin for Mamaw and where did he find her? Pickin up those darned crab apples.
Mamaw’s tired from havin grandkids all week, Poppy is tired from his little journey and I’m exhausted with Mamaw ‘draggin me around’ cause of my fear. Let’s just say goodnight…
