Oh my Lord—it rained SO HARD in the night! Scared me…yet I felt safe in my kennel. I know Mamaw tip-toed out to see if I was alright and she saw that I was so she went back to bed.

By the time the apples were picked up this morning, Emily was up. They’ve got a big day today—I don’t know if I’m included in that or not. They’re just kinda layin around right now tryin to decide what time to go. And it’s supposed to be SO HOT AND HUMID TODAY! They will be careful…

Lunch is leftovers—almost as good as last night they’re telling each other. Then they’re getting dressed and loadin Emily’s stuff in the car. I guess she’s goin home today—has to work at THE BARN this afternoon. And then Mamaw gets my bag out of the closet! That’s when I KNOW I get to go. She gets all the stuff I might need and takes me to the car. “Oh—not the front seat Mamaw,” I ask her. She said it’s the backseat for you today. Well, that’s okay; at least I’m goin.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder—and I mean into the wild blue yonder. We are looking for the famous Kelly Phone Booth in Kelly, IA. The directions on the website were confusing and there were so many detours that—yes, we got lost again! But we just kept goin and goin and FINALLY we get there. Van and Bonnie were there yesterday celebratin with the town folks we heard. Okay—we’re in THE PHONE BOOTH for pictures—then we’re out of the phone booth for pictures. I’m hot—Mamaw I need some water. Get me in the car—please give me some water. Okay—she’s satisfied with the pictures so let’s move on now.
We dropped some jewelry off for Dodi but it’s so hot we’re gonna just keep movin. Next on the list is stop at the Flower Bed and pick up the scarecrow Chris is givin Mamaw—had a terrible time getting it in the car but Emily managed to get it done! Thanks Em…and then to Em’s house. Now Mamaw wants photos of Em with her car (sweet little ride too). Okay—bye Emily and off to Hayleigh’s house. She’s got her stuff all ready cause Mamaw called her earlier and invited her down for a couple of days.

We’re on the road again—and home at last. It was a nice outing but so hot we’re all glad to be home. Hayleigh is restin on the couch and Mamaw says she’s gonna get her mail. Oh my Lord—she has won 2 tickets to see Melissa Ethridge on Saturday night! “Come on Hayleigh,” she says, “we gotta drive down on KCCI and pick up the tickets.” Got sort a lost again—what a day. When we finally got home AND STAYED HOME, I was relieved!

We had dinner, a little TV and all went to bed. Poppy is really tired—he’s workin his hands to the bone takin care of people who need his services. Sleep tight Poppy, sleep tight Hayleigh, sleep tight Mamaw. Tomorrow is another day…
