It was dark when I had to get up—didn’t want to. I was still sleepin when she came around my way. I’ve learned I’d best get out to go and back though cause I never know what that woman is up to. Wonder how Poppy has managed her all these years—I’ll bet it’s a secret; don’t you?

Poppy started BOTH CARS and I didn’t see her gettin my bag outta the coat closet so I suspected this didn’t include me. I went in the kennel like a good girl cause I really WAS tired from our trip yesterday. They left—no television playin or nothing—dead silence. So then I have to listen to all that traffic goin up and down 50th Street with their loud noises.

She came back but didn’t let me out of the kennel so then I KNEW SOMETHING DIFFERENT WAS HAPPENIN TODAY! She just got some stuff around and before long I heard a horn blarin outside and off she went. No goodbye, no kiss and no kiss my butt!

A long time later she came home and was quite a happy camper. She said she’d been to the West Des Moines Writer’s meeting. Jessie went too—So now she thinks her writin has now led her to go to some meetings. She’s like a sponge and wants to suck up all the “good information” she thinks would be helpful to her cause.

She got back in the car (without me again—was I bad yesterday? Why can’t I go today?)

Poppy got home and he was without Mamaw! Now—what’s the deal there? She came home about an hour later with groceries to put away—good thing Poppy helped her, cause she talked his ears off—literally. Tellin him all about her perception of each one of these people and the story telling part of the meeting. She told him she was real happy with the meetin and would like to go back next time—Poppy said he was glad she had a good time and that she should do that…

I could just see her mind workin like a clock all evening--tick-tock; tick-tock.) Ya know—that second hand they call it—slowly but surely movin right along. I knew there was gonna be no “tug” game tonight so left her alone. I did manage to wiggle my butt between the two of em though and we all reclined on the loveseat together. I finally just decided to go to bed—guess she did too. She hooked my kennel and off she went to bed. A while later I heard Poppy in the bedroom and he said, “Hey, I fell asleep with my two girls with me and woke up alone.” Go to bed Poppy—just go to bed.
