I really didn’t want to get out of bed today. It’s cold and it’s boring. But Poppy is home so I did. I got my belly rub right off the bat and then I got outside “to get the stink blown off me.” Okay—let’s start our day now. I did my tricks—well, one of em is confusing cause Mamaw has messed with the wording and I don’t get it—it ends up frustrating us both so we don’t do it anymore. Beside, Poppy says it’s getting harder to feel my ribs so I’M ON A DIET TOO!
I helped strip the bed so we’ll have clean smellin sheets tonight! And she told Poppy to get his dark clothes around and so we ended up with TWO LOADS OF THEM! Gotta love Poppy—don’t ya?
Poppy left for a while—I guess he went to the bank and did some other errands. Ya know they don’t tell me much…but I know Mamaw worked and worked on organizing photos again so she can save em. It’s a big job folks—and she just keeps takin pictures of me. Guess she just can’t get enough of me.
We went to get Ozzie and took him out. We brought him back to our house and right off the bat today, he wanted his SNAPS. She usually doesn’t let him have em that early but we haven’t had him here for 3 days so she gave in to him. (smile) He got 4—I got 2. Then he went over to see Poppy—later he went behind the couch and took a nap. I didn’t have any choice but to lay beside Poppy and take a nap too.
Mamaw went back to doin whatever she’s doin to organize photos. So, a couple of hours later Ozzie came out from behind the couch and let us know he was ready to go home. We promised we’d be back in a few hours to get him out again. Oh, but Miss Becky called and said she was comin home early so we don’t need to get him again. O crap—I need at least one more kiss to make it through this boring day.
Well, guess what? I gave Mamaw my very best Ozzie sound and she got duded up in her funky goes, coat, hat, scarf and sunglasses and let me outside too—WITHOUT A LEASH! I went wild, I have to admit to you, yes—I WENT WILD! I was runnin up and down the sidewalk trying my hardest to get Mr. Oz to come play with me but he didn’t want to. That meant I ran A LOT—and I could hear Mamaw clappin her hands and callin out to me but I ignored her! When we finally got in the house, she dried my paws and put me in the slammer with BAD DOG and NAUGHTY.
She made me stay there until after dinner too. I was chastised and shamed and I just couldn’t look her in the face. I climbed up beside Poppy and got just as close to him as I could. And when I needed to go outside for my last potty break? She made me use my leash and with sharp words, she said, “I trusted you without the leash and you got on your high horse (now how the hell can I get on a horse) and wouldn’t listen to me so you must prove to me again that I can trust you to listen to my commands.)
I’ll just go to bed for the night. But nobody closed the door. I’m stayin here though—Mamaw is MAD! Later she asked if I wanted to go back to the waterbed with her and I didn’t move—didn’t know WHAT TO DO. Finally she coaxed me out and I joined her on the bed—along with that damned e-reader again.
