My ears are bad! Mamaw called Miss Jessica right away and I gotta go see her at 3:15 today. She keeps tryin to get in to look and I warn her good—they hurt and I don’t want em messed with—so there!
Poppy’s home…..belly rubs galore. He thinks I’m a pretty sweet commodity even though I chewed a hole in the quilt and started eatin the cotton candy filling. Mamaw HIT THE ROOF! I am in so much trouble I’m just not able to look at her and all I hear is BAD DOG—NAUGHTY—guess that means it wasn’t supposed to be a treat.
I got to go get Ozzie today—but I was on a leash. And she was so mad at me, I just kept getting our leashes tangled up. I figure I’ll get her one way or another—somehow. Anyway it was 20 degrees warmer—a big 25—and she thought we could maybe walk the trail. WRONG! When we turned the corner at the trail the wind was bone chilling so she made us come back to the house.
Ozzie hung onto Poppy like crazy today and I didn’t feel well enough to wrestle for my position so I just let him have him. Then Mr. Oz decided to lie down behind the couch and take a nap—I napped—Poppy napped—and Mamaw worked on her “stuff.” The house was very quiet and serene.
Finally Ozzie let it be known he was ready for his treats—SNAPS—he got 4—I got 2. And then he stood right there for her to brush him—he just loves that. And he puts his nose right in her hand cause she rubs him between his nose and ears and I think he believes he is in heaven! And then home…the snow is melting and it’s kinda slick. I thought me and Ozzie was gonna fall down a time or two but we survived cause Mamaw told us both to slow down and be careful.
Before I knew what was really goin on, Mamaw opened the coat closet door and got my “short leash” out. Now that means I’M GOIN SOMEWHERE! He drove in to the Ashworth Animal Hospital and I knew exactly where I was. I pulled and pulled cause I couldn’t get to Miss Jessica fast enough. It’s what she does to me after I get there that is a bummer…
There was a schnauzer there—male—very handsome and he was very interested in me I can tell ya. We loved it up pretty darned good and he wanted to do the nasty but I told him we would have to have some privacy. Then I was called into the ROOM—they weighed me; 22.8 lbs. I’m holdin on to my weight real good and Mamaw wishes she was doin as good. Miss Jessica came in and tested gunk in my ears and came back to say I had yeast infection—IN MY EARS FOR GOD’S SAKE!
They took me back to a big table and pumped all kinds of water and stuff in my ears and trimmed my nails. I was glad to get back to my folks I can tell ya. They sent us home with an antibiotic and want to see me again in a week. Once we get the go-ahead, Mamaw is goin to take me to see Miss Leann and have the underside of my ears shaved so my ear canals can get more air. It’s great to have these beautiful ears but there is a price to be paid for this beauty.
I’m goin home—and sleep—I’m exhausted. Mamaw took Ozzie out the second time without me. He didn’t really have to go she said—he wanted to rub his face in the snow so she just let him have his fun. He is lucky to have someone who cares so much about his feelings.
And then the rest of the night is a blur—I think I slept all night. I don’t even remember her putting me in my kennel. Hope I feel better tomorrow…

Hope you feel better soon Scarlett. I have been under the weather too. Maybe Springtime will help us.
ReplyDeleteOh my God Lin--not you too! This isn't good--it really isn't good. Why don't ya just go on strike like I did? Who says we gotta do this and do that anyway? Be a little rebellious...now go ahead--try it--you'll like it!
