I had to have that darned MUZZLE on my nose to get my ear drops again today—but guess what? I think maybe they are workin this time! Wouldn’t that just be the bestest ever?
And then when Mamaw was all duded up, she put me in the car and said, “Miss Scarlett, we are goin on a long drive.” She loaded part of her vacuum cleaner in the car and off we went! I suppose she’s got errands again…and I’ll have to stay in the car…but I can do that! We drove to the Grimes Walmart and she ran in to get some batteries for our garage door keypad—she didn’t mess around and spend any more money than that in there either. Poppy is gonna be so proud of her!!!!! Then she starts the car and we go over to SE 14th St. (here in Des Moines, IA) and she drives all the way to the south side so she could see how the east side looked after all these years. She showed me Eyeglass World where Poppy had helped out for a few days a long time ago and then she turned on Army Post Road and drove to the vacuum cleaner place. She said, “Miss Scarlett, I don’t think I’ll be any longer than 5-10 minutes here—so you STAY.” What else could I do?
She was back before I really even got settled down for a nap and then she drove us back home via Fleur Drive. She wanted to see if there was goin to be any water problems there. It was lovely—I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it.
She got busy on her laptop and she thinks she has now finished her novel. She’s gonna ask Lin what she thinks though—and Lin still has 4 edits to look at but she heaved a big sigh of relief and now she’s ready to start editing the hard copy to make sure it’s all okay. She’s so proud I thought she was gonna bust her buttons! And she wanted to be done before the weather got nice enough for her long walks so all is good that ends well.
It was a lovely dinner—Poppy got home late—and he was really tired. I got a few veggies but nothing else. And Mamaw wanted to watch that made-for-TV-movie about Amanda Knox. I could tell Poppy could care less-- She ended up in the bedroom—I ended up in the kennel
